Why are the demos much better than the final versions? The production on those feel like a warm hug… it still feels summer-y but with that vintage nostalgic feel only Miley can convey… like her 90s rock song covers but originals! Hands Of Time as a first single would have been great (maybe not as successful as Flowers but more authentic to her), followed by Taste Of My Own as the second summer single (more palatable for the GP as it’s more pop) and Jaded as the third and last single (we all know she loves to just give us 3 singles before discarding an era and she usually ends it with a power ballad). Maybe not as successful or commercial, but I think she’s at a point in her career where she can prioritize what she wants to put out rather than following trends and seeking validation from the GP.
