the amount of false information in this thread and people going "omg lets not speculate about Lanas mom" when Lana herself has been pretty blatant she dont like her mama is just eye-rolling inducing

listened to the album yesterday and i think there's a bit of exaggeration from both sides. the album is lazily done but the songs are really not that bad. i think most of it had mad potential, nicki just needed to work on them more and actually finish them. but the idea is there. i can understand everyone's frustration tho, this had little to do with the original pink friday, it does feels kinda misleading on her end. however, barbs occasional homophobia and transphobia is incredibly weird, there's not a single song on this album worth all that. the constant race card pulling and overall acting like this album is a hardcore hip hop masterpiece that's unappealing to white audiences is laughable, especially since nicki is singing most of the time LMAO. this fanbase is being overly delusional at the moment, i think they ran out of ideas to defend their fave and are now resorting to virtual crimes only

Album is alright but seems lazy as fuck. Most of the songs are 90% sample and why the heck would she open up the album with basically a Billie Eilish song.

    Queen is far superior.

It's kind of annoying cus i wanted to listen to a Nicki Minaj song, but instead i had to endure billie eilish and fucking cyndi lauper, honestly what was she thinking?

Also ignore that user above who pulled the race card, they always do it. They also called me racist because i said i disliked AJ's reaction videos a few years ago.

    Mental illness luv...

The more I listen to it the more I dislike it. I like some songs but this is her worst album hands down. Rushed, unfinished, lazy samples, underwhelming production, subpar lyrics, pitch demo singers used as features, scraps used as filler, 12 songs missing on the physicals, etc. It just feels empty. An obvious cash grab acting as a follow up to an actually good album for nostalgia bait. A stain on her discography, but it seems like the past few years she’s made it her mission to tarnish her legacy. Listening to The Pinkprint after listening to this is so jarring like this really is the same artist…

Well tbh i see alot of poc fucking with pf2, and other poc having the same view: its disorganised. Everyone of different race I've seen online have a share fair of opposite opinions so not liking the album isnt a case of "you wouldn't get it because ur white". Therefore race is irrelevant.

white gays most definitely loved roman reloaded lmao roman holiday? starships? pound the alarm? whip it? automatic? beautiful sinner? all beloved tracks by the white sissies

the delusion  this half-assed unfinished mixtape is nowhere near being this ahead of its time masterpiece you're painting it out to be. most of the intro track's a sped up version of when the party's over by Billie Eilish like get real for one second  this is not even close to being a good follow up to Pink Friday (one of the best albums of the 2010s)

because people think taylor swift can somehow fix every world issue/ needs to make a statement about everything while simultaneously criticizing her for only understanding superficial level politics

taylor is never going to win in this department because 99% of the people who "call her out" on these sorts of things don't even actually care and just don't like her and want a reason to come into this thread and write their think pieces. and i know this is true because everyone's fave on this website has only shown israel support throughout this whole thing and yet we defend her

i support freeing palestine and it would be great for taylor to speak up about it, but i don't go to popstars or magazines for my politics so i'm not expecting a statement, the same goes for lana

tbh Nicki albums usually are a little overly-long and have some skips, so I wouldn’t be mad at 10 songs as long as they are 10 GREAT songs

she's dropping so many hints for rep tv coming soon but i am just not feeling the hype. i'm tired of these rerecording rollouts    i really want her to drop the last two, break her records and be over with it

netanyahu, for *worse* of course, has done more since October to influence the events of the year than Taylor has done all of 2023. Invasion, war, genocide, ethnic cleansing, disrupting the global political landscape, pushing the world closer to a global war catastrophe etc etc etc!

i doubt that would’ve sold many copies though. Go figure

    just one possible example though

guys the first paragraph of Wikipedia says:

Person of the Year (called Man of the Year or Woman of the Year until 1999) is an annual issue of the American news magazine and website Time featuring a person, a group, idea, or object that "for better or for worse... has done the most to influence the events of the year".

that’s why donald trump was their person in 2016 and hitler in 1938. it was ‘the spirit of Ukraine’ in 2022 and the me too movement in 2017. i’m pretty neutral on taylor swift, but you can’t deny that’s you literally could not escape her this year which is likely why she was picked. (though I agree with what @bluevelvetcola has said)

It's undeniable that her impact has been colossal this year. But it makes it all the more bittersweet when you realise how much she could advocate for but refuses to speak out. Between her silence on Palestine, her association with people like Matty Healy and  Brittany Mahomes, carbon emissions, the 'ethical' billionaire stuff and more, it kinda sucks. Not saying she doesn't deserve Person of the Year or that it should have gone to someone else, but she wields a massive amount of influence, and all she can talk about is drama from 7 years ago?

Don't get me wrong, I think Taylor has also done a lot of good in the world, and I've enjoyed getting into some of her music this year. And I don't think it's. necessarily right to hold her up on some kind of moral pedestal, she's a pop singer at the end of the day. And obviously in an ideal world, we'd turn away from celebrities being the mouthpieces on sociopolitical topics.

this is why i cant take taylor's self-victimization seriously. the most horrendous thing that's happened to her is getting "cancelled within an inch of her life", even though she was on the sold-out rep tour which broke the record for the highest grossing tour in history, rep got 1 million+ sales first week, lwymmd was a #1 bb hit, and lwymmd music video got 1 billion views in less than a year  come on now baby.

She really rewrote history with this “no one saw me for a year” thing. She was everywhere still in late-2016 to early-2017. I think newer fans don’t realize her “blackout” was like a few hours before she started the Rep era??
