Just made this HM cover, I love this fake image I use as my icon and thought it would make a nice cover art

I think she needs something that will thoroughly disturb her comfortability in the industry. Some of her best works came from a sort of challenge (Red to 1989 being her first attempts to do a strong country to pop crossover era, Reputation being a product of her downfall + her Katy Perry feud, and Folklore/Evermore being a product of the pandemic). 
 
Whenever she's comfortable, she starts producing mediocrity such as this one. The marketing is great and I'm sure her visuals will be top notch...but the album itself sucks. Her lyricism here is some of the weakest yet (with the Charlie Puth line being her absolute career worst) and the entire album just sounds so one-note, but in a bad way. The latter issue is a Jack Antonoff issue, but Taylor still gets a bit of blame from me for that since she has some sort of control what she produces with that man. 
 
I'm hoping she considers a genre-shift for the next album. She's getting way too comfortable and I think a challenge will only do her good. 

This is a good point, but it ultimately depends on the quality of the tracks. Having a long ass album with lots of tracks will increase stream time, and therefore profits. It’s what Drake did with Scorpio, and that album is a steaming pile of horse shit. I’d be hesitant to call this album a cash grab tho. It seems many people enjoy the many tracks. If the 31 tracks were shitty half baked snoozers then it would look like a cash grab

Saved 14 songs, won't even try it with the ones that didn't make it on the 1st listen. Hoping that this shortened version will click and if it does I'll come back to the full thing in a few weeks.
Honestly I expected more, a new chapter in her career, since Mid and Eras tour felt like an end of an era. Maybe I just set my expectations way too high knowing that this woman made Folklore.

this is such a great year for pop music, especially if youre a fag. Lana, beyonce, billie, taylor... everyone important is releasing a new album

I feel like every new listener should just listen to BTD/NFR/OB I think they are her “essential albums”  and show her artistic growth perfectly. Personally I would throw LFL in there too because it’s great bridge from BTD to NFR (I think UV and Honeymoon are better albums but they are a little more secluded in their sounds). 

I’m not taking what Courtney said about Lana too seriously because it wasn’t exactly a diss - and seemed to be more about the John Denver song than anything else, as mentioned by a few users above.
 
With Courtney’s candidness, so to speak, I think she just tends to say things rather brashly and bluntly. She evidently admires and respects Lana for her own artistic integrity - not to mention the ways in which Lana has supported Courtney personally. So, I’m still a Hole / Courtney fan and I can see where the rest of her points on the other singers she mentioned are coming from… ☕️ (even if I don’t fully agree) 

What a hit thread  let’s hope her comeback single pops off as much as this. Why are we still putting other women down in order to announce / promote YOUR output or contribution. Why can’t they ALL contribute Courtney???? Gee wiz for a punk rock chick you clearly lost the plot.

i think shes joking because the last song lana has released was the cover expect for blue skies which i doubt she has heard. courtney also talked about lana on a podcast a few days ago saying she opened the door “for women and twinks” also like a year ago she called lana a musical genius so i dont think shes being serious

Coke is commonly used in the music industry (and by a lot of rich people in general - sportspeople, actors, etc) but heroin is a whole other level
It's not impossible that she used heroin but it's very very difficult to function on it. As SN said, it's hard to imagine her being a regular user of it and meeting all of her career commitments at that time

are you sure about that? i feel it would be very hard for her to maintain any sort of career if she was addicted to heroin, that drug will literally completely take over your life, it would probably change her appearance and she probably wouldn't be able to perform, record music, have photoshoots, etc. i mean, maybe some people can hide it and get by, demi lovato was addicted to it, and perhaps it wasn't obvious, but we know it almost took their life, i highly doubt it honestly and blind items most certainly can be false
