evilentity 13,343 Posted January 30, 2014 All these feelings I'm tired of them Ruling over my life again Emotions aren't my friend I keep them ordered as best I can I can, you can, we can, [do?] can Keep it all together Layman, workman, his man, her man How about about the weather? All these people I'm tired of them Sifting into my life again Their questions, the how and when I try and answer the best that I can but I can, you can, we can, [do?] can Keep it all together Layman, workman, his man, her man How about about the weather? [All/Oh,?] my worries, they come and go They tend to leave when I let you know On bad days I take it slow I try to dance when I hit a low I can, you can, we can, [do?] can Keep it all together [Hitman/hit man?], [burn man?], his man, her man It will all get better Oh, the days they go so fast I can't believe what is in my past The future's here at last I don't need to have what she has I can, you can, we can, [do?] can Keep it all together [Hitman/hit man?], [burn man?], his man, her man It will all get better Sing it out Sing it loud Sing it out Sing it loud Be proud Come out Be proud Come out I can, you can, we can, [do?] can Keep it all together [Hitman/hit man?], [burn man?], his man, her man We can make it better, yeah We will have it better 2 Quote Stalking you has sorta become like my occupation. Greenwich 1,052 Posted January 30, 2014 It's definitely "do" "All" my worries I think it's also hit man, and burn man If it was hitman, then it would be burnman, and that doesn't make any sense.

Sitar 22,210 Posted January 30, 2014 I think the syntax is more like so: I can, you can, we can do Can keep it all together Rather than "do can" (whatever that is)

Nope, this is just Lana ignoring the rules of English grammar again. Don't get me wrong. There's nothing inherently wrong with breaking grammar rules. Poets and songwriters have been doing that for centuries. 2 Quote Stalking you has sorta become like my occupation.

Wryta Thinkpiece 3,344 Posted February 20, 2014 All these feelings I'm tired of them Ruling over my life again Emotions aren't my friend I keep them ordered as best I can Maybe I'm just reading too much into her lyrics sometimes, but when I heard the first verse, I thought of a line from Morrissey's "Dial-a-Cliché" And you find that you've organized your feelings for people Who didn't like you then, and do not like you now. Honestly, I frequently find associations between Morrissey/The Smiths and Lana in their lyrics. Does anyone know if Lana happens to be a fan?

HEARTCORE 18,971 Posted April 12, 2014 Does anybody else think that 'For You' might be an alternative name for 'For Charlie'? To me, it sounds like she is singing more about a close friend/family member as opposed to a boyfriend, so it sorta fits...

HEARTCORE 18,971 Posted June 28, 2014 Charlie's Gay???? I spoke to someone who has For Charlie, so I'm assuming that it's different to For You.

Wilde_child 490 Posted June 29, 2014 I do find some similarities too. I think she likes The Smiths. Saw a quote from There Is A Light... in her yfrog album once and it made my day! Maybe I'm just reading too much into her lyrics sometimes, but when I heard the first verse, I thought of a line from Morrissey's "Dial-a-Cliché" And you find that you've organized your feelings for people Who didn't like you then, and do not like you now.
