Lana to feature on Barrie's upcoming album!

Releasing Riverside would give Barrie a quite big amount of money considering the fact that a lot of Lana's fans will buy it. So why wouldn't he or his label want to release it? It doesn't make sense. And regarding the DM he replies to a lot of messages but imagine how many people were asking for Riverside surely he would be annoyed at some point. Anyway the thing is we propably won't listen to this song. I was looking forward to it since their voices make a great match and i liked the teaser.

Barrie played Riverside today on Periscope!He said that he wrote it 2,5 years ago and the original version was without Lana. Then he recorded it with Lana and now he can't release the song. He said he don't think it will ever be released and it is not his fault..

Probably that's what happened. What i don't understand is since Barrie wrote the song, why can't he release it without Lana?

thats why you have to be careful with the legal stuff, when you collab any of YOUR songs with another artist.

If its your song to begin with, that should trump legally over anything. Should be in a contract or legal document.

 

Rita Ora had that song a while back, Calvin Harris wrote or co-wrote, and she wasn't allowed to release it.

It could have very well been a hit song (for her), but Calvin owns it and when they broke up, said F you, you aint using it.

I actually don't love either of their voices on this one. Not sure if it's because it sounds a bit unfinished, but they both sounded very nasal?
