electric_cathedral13 0 Posted August 9, 2013 Well I love horror movies, but my mither is picky about horror movies. The ones that scored me we're Paranormal activity,Halloween, the boogeyman. (not scream...mack) Its an actual boogeyman. When I was little It scared the shit out of me. I've been thinking about seeing Don't be afraid of the dark. You might wanna see the hills have eyes. I know that shot is scary. the recent scary movies. I've seen is The crazies and Paranormal activity. Sorry boy the aggressive autocorrect
pinupgirls 1,056 Posted August 9, 2013 in the third one, the part at the very end where the guy runs to some kind of garden house and there's like 15 people and they start following him It seriously traumatized me forever The Exorcist was duuuumb tbh Uh I'm easily scared but the new Evil Dead is both freaky as fuck and reallllly good. Also The Strangers fucked me up. And where I live looks exactly like The Hills Have Eyes but I got over that in middle school. The Woman in Black was pretty creepy but that might be bc I saw it in a super nice theater so it was enhanced. And the fuckin doll movie, Dead Silence? Goddamn. But don't even put me in a room with an alien movie like I'd rather have demons. watch dark skies. Its very creepy, Signs is good too. scared me for weeks.
greymillenium 541 Posted August 9, 2013 Sante Sangre - very surreal film involving a circus family and revenge Trick R' Treat - A horror anthology surrounding a town and all the eerie happenings that go on during Halloween A Tale of Two Sisters (Korean Film) - what the titles says and also very beautifully shot
lflflflflflflflflflf 3,722 Posted August 9, 2013 I've never watched a horror movie that's left me with scarring impressions. I hate jumpy horror movies because they rely on cheap shock techniques and loud sound effects. Female ghost demons with long black hair in white gowns are so cliche now. I like watching psychological thrillers that make you afraid of something weeks after you finished watching the movie. A movie that still resonates in my mind is Lake Mungo. It's a documentary type movie so it won't appeal to everyone (the movie builds up a lot) but I personally really enjoyed/frightened myself watching it. The film is more about discovering a person's secrets rather than the supernatural, though there are some scary parts in here too. "This trailer doesn't do the movie justice. Based on the trailer it seems predictable, like a paranormal activity movie. However, it takes some turns that I never saw coming. The very very end makes this movie incredibly creepy. If you're bored with Hollywood's torture porns and want a truly eerie movie, you should watch Lake Mungo (as well as Absentia)." "This was truly the most frightening movie I've ever seen. If you're patient enough to watch a movie that isn't full of immediate jump scares, give it a try."
Sitar 22,213 Posted August 11, 2013 Verdict: The Conjuring was so fucked.
Rebel 3,177 Posted August 11, 2013 The Human Centipede, it's not gore but it is definitely disturbing. Don't watch the trailer, it's all about the discovery of the plot. I still remember from time to time some images ... I hate this movie. Excuse me, not gore? I watched the the first and second in a row and even though the second one is way more gorey, the implied gore in the first one is enough for you to feel sick. And in terms of creepy movies, I suggest "Sinister" and "Insidious". Watch "Mama" if you like something creepy ad unexpected but it's not that great.
Rebel 3,177 Posted August 11, 2013 Ooh sorry for double posting but watch the Thai film called "Shutter" it's about capturing ghosts in pictures and I've never seen the full movie but I'm from Thailand and its the #1 horror film ever made in our country and we make a shit ton of scary films. It's been remade so many times in so many different languages but nothing beats the original. Also, V/H/S is very fucking creepy.
lflflflflflflflflflf 3,722 Posted August 11, 2013 The original Thai shutter is really scary. Also, another scary asian film is The Eye! (Both have ~okay~ English remakes)

Rebel 3,177 Posted August 11, 2013 The original Thai shutter is really scary. Also, another scary asian film is The Eye! (Both have ~okay~ English remakes) I watched about 3/4ths of it and thought fuck it, I'm not watching this, it's too scary. But I know the whole plot etc and it's kinda terrifying. That woman picked up at a bar scene on V/H/S is so screwed up. Oh my god, yes. That freaked me out so much. Like her face sort of had that line down the middle and I knew shit was going to go down.
pinupgirls 1,056 Posted August 11, 2013 I think Poltergeist, the original one, was kinda freaky in its own way. Like in the second one, that old man that is singing and walks up to their door and vows to let them in.

I talked about the first one and just because it's sick and disgusting doesn't mean it's gore, so thanks for not bitching.

'Implied gore' kinda defeats the whole definition of gore though... While it was disturbing I didn't think it was that gory either, tbh (I never watched the 2nd).
