that's honestly a really interesting thought, like what if we became a closed community hmm.

it'd help the forum so much in my honest opinion. please think about it and talk it over with Elle. Whenever there is a thread such as this one many new members join with no intentions of ever making any posts and it brings in a lot of traffic

Closed registration feels so elitist. Just make it so that a member's first few posts (maybe like three?) have to be approved by a moderator before they can post freely.

I wouldn't want it to have such exclusivity as ATRL. Ideally I'd just be hoping for a way to foster the small, tight-knight lb community without persistent drama. But I guess that's where it becomes tricky because how do you emphasise community when you are an exclusive community?

I wouldn't want it to have such exclusivity as ATRL. Ideally I'd just be hoping for a way to foster the small, tight-knight lb community without persistent drama. But I guess that's where it becomes tricky because how do you emphasise community when you are an exclusive community?

You can always open up all of the forum for a guest to view but not post in. Or, if you can, whenever a new member joins there are strict limitations such as : having to have a minimum of 30-40 *real* posts to access certain parts of the forum or minimum of 20 *real* posts until they can post pictures. What I mean by real is it can't just be like someone going into the Ultraviolence lyric thread and putting "love" or something like that and then spamming so they can get the minimum number of posts. Once they've reached that number of posts they also have to wait for a moderator to come online and approve that they didn't just do posts that won't contribute to the discussion

we've definitely discussed minimum posts/closing off areas (particularly POY I remember) I think was largely stagnated by the delay in tiarnan handing over site info to Elle. I'm definitely interested in trying to implement more ban filter for sure tho, it's just a matter of figuring out what's going to be most effect and least disruptive.

Yeah I agree, I wouldn't want the forum to be completely closed off from new members because I know some of them would like to actually become apart of this community. Also, something i don't like seeing is when people join just to only post about other artists? One person I'm thinking of only discusses stuff about Poppy or Melanie, but i've personally never seen them in a thread actually about Lana. We had a lot of problems like that when the old Allie X thread was open for example.

Wow... this thread was wild... definitely giving me pre-Honeymoon flashbacks!

 

Not going to lie though, I've really missed the messes? (Not the porn/scat/trolls) but I love the atmosphere leading up to a new album, like everyone coming together to discuss tiny amounts of info, and everyone coming up with wild theories, it's really enjoyable!

 

I've not really been active here for a while, but I've really missed this place and all of you! Here's to another iconic messy beginning of an era!

The Entertainment section should be a whole another part of the site honestly.  Also, there should be subcategories to divide and organised what is music singers, tv shows, celeb gossip, movies, and a "others"

I couldn't agree more. 

 

I think that her fandom fails to realize at times that she's got her contract with her label, she has the freedom to branch down any avenue (realistically speaking) with her style of music. Every album we've gotten from her has had its own vibe and sound. 

Listen to her unreleased music, how broad her tastes and styles are. 

I think Lana loves to experiment with her music, so everyone bitching about "I want BTD/UV/HM pt.2" "If LDR5 is like HM I will kill myself" needs to chill. It's probably going to be somewhat different than the rest of her albums! 

She doesn't have to promote, she doesn't have to be on an exact releasing schedule...the girl is writing and making music. That's what she has said she has always wanted to do. I don't think she cares at this point as much. BTD put her on the scene in a sense, she got her money and fandom, and she's now doing what she's always wanted.

I saw the screenshot he posted of his text messages with Lana, however some people don't think it's legit. I'm not sure if it's real or not, those things can easily be faked. I hope Eclipse doesn't release any new material, I feel as if that would be a real douchey thing to do...
