Anyone else noticing Mel has developed this strong rasp/fry in her singing voice? She's always had it slightly when talking, but not in singing. I feel like she's done some Britney Spears type damage from (simmilatly to Britney) pushing a baby voice over her natural vocal power. Thoughts?

(I do know she was using pitch corrector here, but it's a good example of her "fry" Because you can't hear fans in the background)

yeah she’s definitely ruined her voice over time

she’s always had a naturally beautiful, soft, breathy voice which is basically perfect for what she does but the constant singing + lack of proper training has taken a toll

 

she needs to take lessons asap

What's sad is, she's not going to get training to improve. Melanie has a lot of pride in the fact she's never taken a class in anything she's done (apart from dancing) and I don't see her starting now

Melanie did take classes with a vocal coach during her hiatus, and she is said to be taken them, classes, again for the recording of MM3.
 

But yeah during the tour she does not take those classes, sometimes I wonder if she ever does vocal warm-ups.
 

Melanie strained her voice during the Cry Baby tour, due to the fact that she had been touring non-stop since 2013 - to 2016 and we know damn well during the Dollhouse tour she would go full in-depth of character during some songs, hence so many screaming performances of Cry baby with her acting like a lunatic.
 

Mel's voice was going strong during the K-12 tour, as a lot of the songs she would lip-sync, but turning up to the end she got sick and never got time to fully heal, I now wonder if she didn't get miss Rona back then as it was spreading since November on Asia and it didn't take long to get to Europe.

Melanie still does unneccicary belts a lot. I don't think she knows what she's doing vocally which makes things a lot worse for her. I've also been wondering if she got COVID because I know Ive had both laryngitis and COVID, and the symptoms she described on her stories at the time.... You'd have to have one of the nastiest laryngitis cases around to be to the point of being unable to speak entirely.
