…Into a Flower being the SOTY feels correct. The heart-wrenching final verse that starts to bloom into this gorgeous instrumental and vocalisations? I mean come on now.

In Natalie’s words my heart is so broken it emits light

Natalie in a new Pitchfork interview on insights gleaned from working with Lana:

"Mering credits Lana in particular with changing her perspective on how a songwriter can stay true to their muse while operating at a mainstream level: 'She is a real chaos pilot, weaving together her crazy tapestry,' Mering says. 'It was inspiring to meet somebody who operates on that scale and is still striving to try new things. She’s like David Bowie in that way.'"

She also mentioned Lana in this interview:

You're a solo artist, but you often surround yourself with other musicians - Jonathan Rado, Mary Lattimore, Meg Duffy and Daniel Lopatin are on your new album

I loved working with Perfume Genius, with Blake Mills... Working with the Killers was a strange experience, but we got along great. It was amazing to sing with Lana Del Rey, who I've always admired. I saw that there was nothing calculated about her, that everything she shows us is real.

i don’t listen to a ton of Weyes but the songs that stood out to me from Titanic Rising are all songs i love, i just wanted to say that the photo shoot for this album coming up are literally the best photos Neil Krug has taken to date.
