When random redditors are like “I didn’t hear this song. Is it on new album???!” under a post with a song that leaked in like 2015

I can’t believe she hyped this album like it was going to be some sort of major cultural phenomenon when it’s literally just a bloated rap album filled with annoying, shoehorned samples. She’s not even that good of a rapper to pull it off either. There’s so many better rap/r&b/pop albums that had a bigger impact than whatever this is, let’s not even lie to ourselves

Well tbh i see alot of poc fucking with pf2, and other poc having the same view: its disorganised. Everyone of different race I've seen online have a share fair of opposite opinions so not liking the album isnt a case of "you wouldn't get it because ur white". Therefore race is irrelevant.

the delusion  this half-assed unfinished mixtape is nowhere near being this ahead of its time masterpiece you're painting it out to be. most of the intro track's a sped up version of when the party's over by Billie Eilish like get real for one second  this is not even close to being a good follow up to Pink Friday (one of the best albums of the 2010s)

I’m pretty sure I would still not like the album if I was black… or straight…. Or even a worm.

I’m so mad she wasted the name ancient dreams in a modern land, it’s so epic and would have fit a greek mythology album so well

she even made a bad album, so that way she wouldn’t have to make too many physical copies, therefore reducing carbon emissions from the vinyl and cd plants! she’s so thoughtful!

There’s some good songs, but most of the album is very mid. Production is mostly very uninspired, a lot of very lazy samples. I do like the way she used the Lumidee sample in Red Ruby though. The Blondie sample in My Life is good too.
It feels more like a mixtape than an album. After 5 years i expected something a bit stronger.

This is terrible sorry. I’m not a big Nicki fan but I was percheddddd for this album. Big let down. The intro track alone is so embarrassing. A few cute moments but nothing special nor memorable. Pink print & pink Friday outsold. She needed a FEW big female collaborators on here to make it work. The features are bad and yet they still carry their songs dkdjfjsksk

Flipside because it isn’t a part of standard UV. Everybody should have an easy access to it and revel in its greatness

It seems she's been interested in Greek mythology & poetry lately and has applied the stories as metaphors for her own life. Here, by referencing Icarus and his wax wings that melted by flying too close to the sun. Earlier this year, she attended a reading of Ulysses which was inspired by The Odyssey, and after hearing the reading she wrote a message in a guestbook that suggested that the book's final line featuring the repetition of the word "yes" was how she attempted to live her own life which left her feeling dissatisfied. Even in Fingertips she writes, "They say there's irony in the music, it's a tragedy, I see nothing Greek in it" & “Call me Aphrodite as they bow down to me”
I'm interested to see how Greek mythology & poetry influence her upcoming work too x

I hate to wax poetic, but as someone who distinctly remembers having to defend her to my peers in the 8th grade, back in 2012/13, and how she was the punchline of many media-outlets—it makes me uniquely emotional seeing the praise and the deep-rooted respect she is given now in 2023. Seeing headlines like “Lana Del Rey forgives us” and reading articles like this tell me what I always knew about her, and in a way, they validate the little boy who was made fun of for liking her and who felt the need to hide who he really was. Maybe one day I’ll forgive them too
