Okay okay lyrically Heroin is better but musically Cruel World smashes Heroin to pieces. FACTS

Cruel World > Heroin but not by far

btw LFL > UV > HM > PD > BTD

I'm not talking in terms of iconic songs that the albums contain, but in terms of cohesiveness, general quality and atmosphere. As an example, BTD contains 4 songs that are in my top 10 of all Lana songs, but it also has a lot of fillers, unnecessary songs. Her voice is too edited and basically all the songs are overproduced. This album in itself is a mess, even though there are 4 absolute masterpieces on it: Born To Die, National Anthem, Off To The Races and Video Games.

Besides, LFL doesn't have any track that I would put in my top 10, but it also doesn't have any track that I dislike - except Coachella. It's more mature, more intelligent, more open, more diverse yet coherent.

Did anyone's signed Lust For Life CD from the US store ship yet? Because apparently, I didn't get the memo

Also

Cruel World > Heroin

I loved Cruel World from the first time I heard it. Heroin had to grow on me and I couldn't even remember how it went for days

Heroin is her best song. The highlights on LFL are her best ever

I don't think having different opinions on songs makes people dumb?

let's be honest I love the Honeymoon production and aesthetic and the calm/spiritual ballads concept but it truly isn't her best album. Some tracks are very forgettable, which isn't the case on LFL

Cruel World and Heroin are two amazing songs in their own way. Lemme explain:

Cruel World

Pros:

- The guitar makes the song what it is (for me)

- It sounds dreamy and psychedelic

- The lyrics are fun and cool

- It's a song you can listen to whenever you feel like it

- It's a fan favorite

Cons:

- It drags on for way too long

- She repeats the lyrics over when she could have filled in the melody with different verses

------------------------

Heroin

Pros:

- The production is soft and calming

- The structure during the bridge shifts dramatically when she sings "It's fucking hot, hot,..."

- You can hear a lot of emotion in Lana's voice

- The lyrics are amazing and well thought out

- Also seems to be a fan favorite

Cons:

- Personally I find I have to be in a specific mood to listen to it

- It's not getting a music video

The only dumb people on this website are the ones who think other people are dumb for having an opinion on a song
