Wow just listened to the album for a third time and I honestly think Get Free is the best song Lana has ever released. This album has so many unexpected turns melodically, its phenomenal. That chorus! And WAR and Heroin are also just so lush and rich yet so different from anything I've ever heard from any artist. I honestly think this will surpass ULTRAVIOLENCE for me. Never thought I'd be able to say that and it took me much longer to appreciate ULTRA. So happy I didn't cancel my signed LFL vinyl.

Since the other artists not only sang with Lana but (afaik) also co-wrote the songs we will never really know how the songs would have turned out without them I guess...

For me Abel doesn't add but substracts from the song but that's just my opinion.

I can't sleep so I just wanna rattle off some of my favorite moments on the album

 

 

 

• the change in lyrics during the chorus on Love, it's corny, but I think it reflects the theme of Lana connecting with her fans that shows up a lot on this album quite well
• I still think the intro to the title track is a neat little Shangri-Las throwback and the song itself is a lot better than people give it credit for
• that 13 Beaches intro! those strings! the sample! gorgeous!
• the random cursing in Cherry is very polarizing, but I kind of dig it. gives the song a much more tongue in cheek vibe, and kind of reminds me of Thief of Hearts by Madonna
• Summer Bummer has these interesting operatic vocals going on in the background that really elevate the song imo
• Rocky chiming in with "you are my babe" at the end of Groupie Love is adorable and I don't care what anyone else has to say about it
• the melody and vocals from In My Feelings still need to grow on me but "I'm crying while I'm cumming" is such a good lyric and I'm happy Lana is trashing G-Eazy soooo
• THE CHIQUITITA GUITAR AT THE START OF GBA and fuck the chorus is so good, makes me feel kind of proud to be a woman in America and that's pretty hard lmao
• really digging the lyrics in WTWWAW, another song that needs to grow on me but I never thought I'd see her essentially tell men to sit down
• the start of Beautiful People Beautiful Problems really takes me back to Black Beauty and makes me feel things, also their voices work together very well to me
• okay, I'm not gonna lie, the "singing with Sean" line made me cringe really hard at first but after a few listens I find it really cute
• it's fucking HOT HOT
• the lyrics on Get Free are really thought provoking as far where she's going next and I'll be damned if I haven't gotten misty eyed every time I get to "this is my commitment," also nice Radiohead chords you got there Lizzy

I'm just really happy with this project, it's not perfect but it feels like it has a lot more life in it than Honeymoon

Your logic is so flawed lol. I probably hate having him being on the record as much as you do but he does add some light to the song, it might be the worst collab there but doesn't mean its a bad track.

 

Also, I'd suggest you stop hoping for ldr6 if you were unhappy with LFL. This has been her best work
