I don’t know much about her or her past controversies, and I’m sure that’s being factored into the reception, but as far as the music itself goes it’s certainly far from the worst stuff out there. It just feels like people decided they were going to hate it long before it came out. I don’t think it helps that I LUV IT (which I actually enjoy for its stupidity) is the first track and some people can’t even get through that one. all that said, Dade Country Dreaming, Dreamgirls, Pretty When I Cry, and BOAT are the standouts here (and honestly the interlude between dreamgirls and boat is nice and bridges them beautifully).
