I remember the heat and the feeling I had when she released 'Honeymoon' song. I was hyped, but not too hyped, and was just laying in boxers on my couch (it was waaay too hot) and then I got the notification. I listened to it, and immediately 'went' in a Paradise-like place. In my mind it was sunny, with palm trees, tall grass and wild roses, along with a warm Summer breeze. It was so magical. :flutter:

And sometimes when I listen to this album I imagine myself sitting in a field somewhere in Italy during the Summer. :flutter:  IDK why, guess I just love Italy even though I've never been there.

@HollywoodHills

You are wrong

Almost all the classic Christmas/New Year's music is not happy, in fact the exact opposite

It is sad,

"I'm dreaming of a White Christmas"

'I'll be home for Christmas" (if only in my dreams)

"Auld Lang Syne"

"Another Auld Lang Syne" (by Dan Fogelberg)

"War is Over (and so this is Christmas)"

"Peace on earth/Little Drummer Boy"

all the classics

all sad and melancholy

Lana is our modern day Edith Piaf. Totally unique. a mixture of Brian WIlson Roy Orbison, Leonard Cohen, Gram Parsons, Elton & Bernie. Born to Die/Paradise is comparable to Elton's Captain Fantastic. All the records need to be listened whole. Waiting for a box set vinyl of all 400 songs not on any lp

I wonder if Morricone turned into Salvatore or at least inspired her to do another song in a similar vein??? Lana doesn’t have a whole lot of western references in her music but I know she sampled Ennio in some unreleased song(s? I’m tired lol) . sorry if this theory sounds stupid but I was going through a spaghetti western phase right before/when Honeymoon came out and I literally used to think Salvatore was inspired by El Indio until I discovered the existence of Francesco lmao . also sorry if this has already been discussed I wasn’t around on Lanaboards back then so idk

also this mashup is off but I enjoyed the video lol

It has me nostalgic for the Honeymoon era. Definitely my favourite album and era!

This was pretty hard. I know my top 5 but the rest was really hard to put together. High By The Beach goes up solely because of "lights, camera, accion" lizzy tease. I'm still salty about the Freak/Ultraviolence video though.  :pft:

Happy as the moonshine

It's so hard to rank these songs. All of them are at least 10/10.

But if I had to choose three songs, these would be: TBD, Salvatore and Religion.

Taste!!! They are the best.

Top 5 if I had to choose right now: TBD, Religion, 24, MTWBT, Honeymoon, and honorable mention to Salvatore - but this ranking/list pretty much changes by the day. There are no bad songs on this album, it's so hard to rank them! Truly her best

It's so hard for me to rank the songs in order of my favourite to least favourite, because, again, like everybody said up there, it's so difficult! Every song for me is a 10/10! I think my absolute favourite favourites though, are Honeymoon, Music to Watch Boys to, Terrence Loves You, God Knows I Tried, High By the Beach, Freak, Art Deco, Burnt Norton (Interlude), Religion, Salvatore, The Blackest Day, 24, Swan Song, and Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood. :)

This record is so timeless and it's definitely her most mature and classiest work, in my opinion! I really have no clue which song is my favourite because it's that good!
