  1. Anyone planning on getting this on vinyl? It's available in yellow (standard), lime green (online-exclusive), glow in the dark (online-exclusive), and copper (UO-exclusive). Honestly, just... why? But I guess it's good to have a choice. IDK, I loved Don't Smile At Me, but I'm not really feeling the singles she has released from this album so far.
  2. This! It doesn't matter if y'all like Billie or not, and frankly it doesn't even matter which one out of them would end up getting the number one album if they (hypothetically) both released on the same day, because IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Interscope aren't stupid, they're not gonna let THEIR OWN ARTISTS compete with each other. Both Lana and Billie have the potential to get a number one album, so they are going to try to make it happen for both of them – by not releasing both albums on the same date. And since Billie has already announced a release date, Lana has to release before (unlikely, IMO) or after that date.
  3. Mess, I always thought both Summertime Sadness and Dark Paradise were co-produced by Emile and Rick, and Rick later did some additional production for the radio mixes.

    Rihanna

But Rated R was released in November 2009? Love Anti though. Happy birthday and hurRIH up with the next album!
  5. Born To Die will always have the best and most iconic cover and that's a fact.
  6. Love it! 13 Beaches definitely should've been the opener.
  7. I agree, that's what I think too. My point is that before anyone knew that Lana would end up reworking the whole album with Dan, this was the finished version of West Coast that was supposed to be on the album, and I refuse to call a produced, mixed and overall finished song a demo (at least in my iTunes library). TBH I still don't get why they ended up calling it a "radio mix" in the first place. It's not like they took the (final) album version, tweaked the production a bit to make it more GP-friendly and called it a day. It's a completely different version of the song, with different vocals and a different production, so why would you call it a radio mix? The updated versions of Summertime Sadness and Dark Paradise that you heard on the radio, where the songs just god some extra production and some extra "oomph", those are radio mixes, but not the West Coast one. Oh well.
  8. TBH I renamed it "West Coast – Alt. Version" because both the album version and the radio mix of West Coast are finished songs. To me, a demo is always something that's still in a somewhat rough state. Like, not necessarily a laptop demo, but something that you listen to and you think, yeah that's clearly not a finished song yet (production, mixing etc.)
  9. If you could just recreate the one that's already out there, but make the bridge sound more "natural", it'd be perfect.
  10. BTD sold well because it's actually great and because it paved the way for all the other alt-pop girls that came after Lana. LFL sold well because it caters to casual listeners more than her previous albums and because of the 23742834 collabs with big names such as The Weeknd, Stevie Nicks, and ASAP Rocky.
  11. The superior Fashion. I don't know Fashion!, I've never heard of her.
  12. Butterflies is in Lana's top five.
  13. More than anything else, I remember getting drunk and high with my ex while we were listening to Born To Die (on vinyl) over and over. We were just lying in bed, kissing and cuddling, playing GTA and... doing other stuff LMAO.
  14. It definitely was, and still is! Probably my favourite pop album of the last couple years. I still don't understand why she chose the best songs for the deluxe edition, though. Getting Warmer, Rocket Ship and Splash are all such essential BOPS and should've been on the regular album. Actually, Obsessed and Loveable too.
  15. Same, I actually quite liked the Christmas album. Her version of Last Christmas is amazing, and My Gift Is You kinda felt like a continuation of Cool to me. And WIG, I can't believe it's been almost three years since Truth was released. This album means so much to me, and I actually listened to the whole thing just a few days ago and it's still great. Honestly bop after bop after bop. I really hope there'll be a new regular album either this or next year. Speaking of, I love that she stans herself: https://twitter.com/gwenstefani/status/1083131763696623617
  16. What we really need is more songs written with Justin Parker and produced by Rick Rubin Emile should be brought back too.
  17. Has anyone here played Kid Icarus: Uprising (3DS)? It's a criminally underrated game, and has one of the best video game soundtracks I've ever heard!
  18. I can't believe I didn't find this earlier. https://picosong.com/wuZ7J/ "Nah, it doesn't sound like a hit." I am SCREAMING!
  19. 15 There's no way I could write something that would even come close to doing Born To Die justice, so I'll just say that I've been a full-time stan since I listened to it for the first time, and it has been my absolute favourite album ever since. What a masterpiece! Thank you, Lana.
  20. It's kinda not on the same level as Nervous System. I'll give it another spin tomorrow though, maybe it'll grow on me.
