Exactly – It's impossible for Lana to make music that pleases everyone in the fanbase because she has such a wide variety of styles ... and fans who prefer the one style over the other one – so there will always be some people left disappointed when Lana releases new stuff. I'm more into dark/non-Pop Lana, but I really like "Love" as well and am looking forward to what Lana has in store for us with the new album.

I really loved Lana's accapella version of Salvatore at the Montreux Jazz Festival last year because the crowd was (almost) totally silent during that minute. That was a true magical moment.

It doesn't matter anyway what we are saying or wishing in this forum – Lana will do what she wants to do, if we like it or not. You can't force her doing promo stuff. It can get frustrating, f.ex. that she doesn't do a proper European tour (no festivals please!).

I actually turned my mom into a stan My mom and I always share whatever music we're into with each other, so she's heard a good mix of all of Lana's music from me, and ended up liking it-- now, she watches the entire "Ride" video every morning ("Luke, I feel like she's talking about me!!!") and sings Lizzy-era stuff all the time (PMIAM gets stuck in her head a lot, and I'll hear her singing it while she cleans-- I never expect to hear "you can be my daddy" come from my mother's lips, but what can u do). Besides "Ride", her other favorite track is "Kill Kill". And, I've told her enough useless Lana trivia that she knows it by heart now-- the other day, I was playing "Yayo", and she says, "Hey, wasn't that in the Keds ad Lana did?" and I cried a little bit inside because I stan that obsessively and she knows it
 
My dad knows she exists, but that's about it-- and my brother doesn't really care for her music, aside from Y&B and the SS remix  
 
As for what music I grew up listening to, my mom listened to a bit of everything-- but it may have been some of the 50s/60s pop she listened to (The Shirelles, Elvis, The Beach Boys, etc.) that really turned me on to Lana's vintage/retro vibes.

I've never thought of this! It makes a lot of sense, seeing as that album was so intensely emotional, and I've said before, she probably put Honeymoon out as soon as she did just to create distance between her and Ultraviolence. So the album we're getting now could be a homage to the original Ultraviolence, before Dan, seeing as it already carries the 'untouchable 5' vibes.
 
Hope it carries dark undertones. If every song is as optimistic as Love I'll have a hard time getting into it. The blackness of her music is the greatest allure

Honestly I think the biggest problem with us as a fan base is because Lana has done so many genres rock-uv and aka,trip hop-born to die/paradise and honeymoon and pop-quarter of her unreleased we expect what we want and not what Lana wants so i think we should just allow her to do what's best at this present moment in time for her

I really really REALLY wish that this era will bring a change in the damn tour setlist. Goddamn, I am not here for another tour with songs like Lolita, Carmen, etc   sing something from your other albums, please!

I usually watch performances by musician Jeff Buckley (who tended to have an older audience) and most fans were quiet, just watching him play and sing (especially during the song Hallelujah) and I think that shows respect for the artist (not saying it's bad to get excited and scream) but yeah. There was this one incident I loved, where a girl was screaming in the crowd and Jeff tells her straight "honey I don't go for screamers" lol!
I just think some fans can ruin an experience for others who actually want to hear the words.

How does YOUR individual needs change or not change by Lana doing or not doing promo?
 
After all, you are a supporter already, correct?? (some of course here may not be, judging from some posts all the time), but if one is a supporter
already, why do you need her to do promo?

Promo is for what? And who pays for the promo? It ain't free. And it is costly in time. (at end of the day, the artist pays one way or another for every cost
involved, be it front end or back end. Lana is one of the most profitable, and the record company makes the most profits from Lana under the deal as it stands. If she did everything like any other artist, seems to me she loses the uniqueness that makes her, well, unique.

Here's a thought- as someone (me) who has seen more than a  dozen plus shows and counting, and is always near the front (in the pit or the VIP area) at each
one, though I don't rush the barricade and have no real desire to be in the very front row of the pit), I have a suggestion if you wish Lana to do
more concerts-
that is SHUT UP and let her sing, and don't scream along with her, which makes it impossible for those in the further back sections to hear the words.
One needs to remember- many people at shows are not necessarily big fans (especially in festivals), and their enjoyment or not, is not in hearing
a bunch of first row singers, but in hearing her sing and hearing the words.
 
I appreciate European audiences that tend to be less noisy (in some places remain absolutely silent).
 
Because if she is only playing to the people squished up front, then why bother having the rest of the audience if they can't hear her?
And not every song is one that needs singalongs. (example- YAYO- only she can sing the song, no, the karaoke's don't sound good. I don't pay big money to see anyone but her sing it.)
 
 
3rd point- if Love doesn't do as well as one wanted it to, blame the leakers (YOU) for making her release it sooner than wanted.
Perhaps grow up and have a little patience and not sabotage her.

I don't think that anyone wants her to fail sales wise. Sadly, so many people derive their opinion on albums from sales/videos/shows. Given the fact that she is not your basic mainstream artist, she is pretty successful.
 
Also, it's very funny when you read people not liking HM because of the lack of visuals. Seriously? That's the deciding factor for the quality of music? 

Exactly, I don't want to see Lana make garbage music like J. Bieber and 90% of "artists" who we listen to radio every day. I've started to follow LDR because she have always been herself and she've always made music who she wanted to do, without thinking about charts and sales. I'm proud of Lana for this reason and i don't want to see her becoming mainstream like all the others.

It's not like Lana is a commercial artist anyway. Her stage production doesn't need a high budget and I was never too fond of her MVs, even back in BTD days, so I don't care much for them either. Love is an exception, that one's great.
Considering Lana's stage fright and desire to not perform on TV, we would not benefit in any way of her being succesful. Just enjoy the music and give up on that idea of mainstream Lana already, it's not going to happen

It's very sad when we only talking about charts and sales, instead of music quality, that in my opinion is the only important thing, especially for an artist like Lana, who has never been an hitmaker( fortunately).
