She's definitely a little special, but whether or not she has psychiatric disorder is too hard to tell. Where does one even draw the line between personality traits and a disorder...

Or it was vice versa ? They used the orchetra because it suited to orchestral version ?!
  3. matiumwing liked a post in a topic by Monicker in Let's analyse Lana's tweets.
It's funny (read: depressing), if you read through her Lana Del Rey twitter (which is quite a chore) chronologically, you can see just how quickly (almost, literally, over night) her life got so complicated and invaded--stuff leaking, rumors starting, harsh criticism from everywhere, everyone wanting a piece of her, even impostors. I can't seem to ever get over how insane fame is or comprehend how anyone can ever desire it. It seems to be, at least in part, some sort of mental disorder. It's like dying and becoming fodder for vultures to feast on

she talks about being the 'bad girl that knows better', having a chameleon soul, no fixed personality, etc and i think its all true. i remember reading an article about her where the interviewer describes her as being 'coltishly innocent' with a 'vampish sense of knowingness'. i think that's a pretty accurate description of her lyrics, her imagery, and her personality. its probably also why people are so quick to assume that she's inauthentic, or putting on some sort of an act -- she seems to be a bit of a walking contradiction. personally, i think lizzy grant was more 'coltish and innocent' while lana del rey is more 'vampish and knowing'. elizabeth (herself) is probably a combination of those things and more.

i think her beauty and her broadly overactive mind have come to shape her the most. she seems highly sensitive and intuitive to people's energies, her surroundings, and her own thoughts. since she tends to remain quiet (or ~ contemplative), perhaps even stoic or detached, people have thus come to perceive her as being stuck up, arrogant, possibly even vapid, if not worse. maybe these reactions have pushed her into her own shell, or left her quite cynical? i think a large part of her insecurities come down to the misperceptions (and passive aggressions) that have probably followed her throughout life. the anxiety of first impressions must be monumental for her. ultimately, i think she loves being beautiful, but its probably an often bittersweet kind of thing. i think she's been able to see the darker depths of human nature as a result. i think she feels a bit defensive about her looks; part of her may even resent what it does to those around her. but paradoxically, i think she needs to feel beautiful.

i think she's a sweet person. i think she cares deeply about others' happiness, despite potentially being a bit aloof? i mean, i remember reading david kahne write that she was always riding the subway late at night by herself. so her being ~weird~ and aloof may be due to a self reflective nature. i also think she's a bit of a narcissist (which unfortunately, seems to be correlated with introversion). this comes back to her dual personality: she often seems insecure, awkward, and nervous. yet she knows that she's beautiful. she knows that she's smart, and she knows that she's talented. i guess it might be hard to attain a sense of self-security when you've got no fixed personality. but she seems happier and more confident now? i think she's come to feel validation (for her talents, and artistic intuitions) -- and its completely warranted. i think she's happy because people are starting to see how great she is, and now she can work on any kind of project that pops up in her mind without worrying about how it'll be received. i mean, after pussy cola, she can kind of do whatever the fuck she wants right?

i dunno what else to say at the moment. a lot of what i feel that i know about her may just be random, abstract comprehensions mixed with vague projections. i guess she seems rather complicated. or simple, maybe? i dunno. but despite everything, i like to think she's as real as they come in this particular industry.

also, if any of you are into jungian typology, i'm fairly certain that she's an INFP

How unpleasantly surprising.. Lana does not need a boob-job, people. It kind of disgusts me seeing so many people say that, or something along the lines of that. Why should she get her boobs done? What good would that do? Way to make women seem more like objects than society already makes them. There's nothing wrong with her having small boobs. She's still Lana. No one needs plastic surgery, unless they've been in some kind of accident and need reconstructive work done. Plastic surgery is a leisure thing. I just don't see how you can be a fan of someone with the mindset of "oh, she has a flaw," (like every single person does, and in this case it's not even a flaw) "she needs to get it fixed."

Idk, call me a bitch or say I'm over-reacting, but that's just a really horrible thing to say, especially about one of your proclaimed favorite artists??? ?

I wouldn't say plastic surgery is stupid, but Lana definitely doesn't need it like others are saying. Natural looks are good if that's how people want to look and "unnatural" looks are great too if looking that way makes the person happy. Being confident in your own body is the most attractive thing you can be, moreso than any physical feature.

I've never really been a true fan of like, anyone, I don't think. but I feel a bit of a connection with her, in terms of her visual style, her overall demeanor (awkward, but often misconstrued as bitchy or even worse), and her whole 'world' in general (what with the various shades of narcissism, girlish emotional torment, and daddy-heavy love). My focus in school has always been science, but I feel as if she's allowed me to tap into a more creative side of myself (re: fan art). ultimately, despite the depressive and often fucked up undertones, I think she's made me more optimistic about life, and people in general. no easy feat.

I guess it's because she celebrates the light and dark side of life in such a balanced and glamorous way. There's hope, but also despair. It's a real interesting contrast between some of her songs, as some can bring me to tears and some can make me smirk. Her style just speaks to me, it's like a missing puzzle piece: after years of looking for the artist I finally found music that just really leaves me wanting more all the time. Most of the time I get tired of music after listening to it non stop, but born to die has been played to death for the last year, and I still find myself re-discovering songs that I just love more and more, both old and new ones.

I guess her mysterious past and shy nature is a part of it too. She just leaves of trails and hints of her back story, and that leaves us fans crazy. How? Why? When? And what?! I don't know the answers, I just freaking love her music
