  2. Finally checked out the album! I was super impressed from the opening track. And skinny also made me think of Lana, and how different everyone talks about her this year (even on this forum) compared to the last 2-3 years. Overall, I'd say, the only thing that's stopped me being a regular fan of Billie is that I prefer a different singing style. In fact I'm most drawn to the shouted backing vocals of Chihiro, and when The Greatest picks up, and the end of L'amour de ma vie. Can anyone recommend more Billie songs where she sings like this? I know the power of Billie's voice, and have known since 2017, but i don't tend to like the style she's settled with. I have the same opinion about Halsey. I need these girls to use their voices power and not hold back! But yeah billie is still excellent and appropriately rated.
  3. Same! That's exactly what I pictured lol, and I was like "how random, it must have some meaning to Lana"

Has this specific reddit post at 14:00 been spoken about in this forum before? I am mind blown
  6. Not that the songs make me feel tired, but they are simply best felt when you're on your way home in the evening and the sun is setting and you're tired. The Blackest Day God Knows I Tried Grimes - Skin Cat Power - Fool Garbage - On Fire FKA Twigs - Ultraviolet Beach House - Space Song
  7. That sounds cool! I'll definitely give it a go
  8. Hi I have 2 questions as someone who didn't even realise this dropped. Does it actually sound rock-inspired? Any songs that may be about Jesse Rutherford?
  9. I wanna talk about our release day memories! What was everyone doing when they first heard the album? I downloaded it on my phone on some sketchy mp3 app, and listened to it back-to-back on my bed. I literally just sat there in awe! Cruel world was an instant fave, and so was Sad Girl And it was a life changing album for sure. No "I need to listen to it again", no "I need more time with it", just instant fave.
  10. This would therefore mark the day I could stop listening to Lana's gorgeous vocals drowned by wretched screaming on repeat
  11. I don't even want to say anything about the song. I just want to say I love her!
  12. Really sad that she's definitely gonna do nothing at most just sharing something on her insta story. Fingers crossed it's an unseen photo or studio footage or something but that's a big useless dream innit
  13. Can we also talk about how perfect her choice of singles were for this era?? I think we often debate which songs should have been singles, but I don't think any choice could have been better than what we got from Ultraviolence. No I won't take PWYC as an answer
  14. I will shamlessly re-promote my blog of the Ultraviolence timeline including even little things from interviews that dont really mean much, but im that obsessed... last updated apparently 9 months ago so it's as recent as we have right now, I think.
  15. I wonder if i can do that as the OP. Clearly when I started the thread I didn't really know this is what was objectively happening. Edit: OK let me know if I can make it any more accurate
  16. Any article trying to describe Lana's music with big words and big references is so funny to me. It's like they try so hard trying to become Lana and write it in Lana's lyrics that its unnatural.. and when Lana has only really described her music quite simply because sophistication and specific referencing is so natural to her. This brings to mind the 2019 article that Lana responded to with this: I read the article and just laughed. Even without Lana's response bringing attention to it, it truly did make me cringe. Some people really think they're writing poetry when they write about her
  17. Film a studio live performance of singing 3 unreleased songs (this is the minimum amount that would have us in a chokehold for possibly 10 months), or previously never performed songs. Post it on youtube, bring back all the stans that mightve been quiet for a few years.
  18. So I was looking up the release dates of the album, and my memory has fooled me. I thought the only songs to be heard before the full album release (Jun 13) were West Coast, Shades of Cool and Brooklyn Baby. But apparently the title track was also released a few days before Brooklyn Baby on Jun 4? Does anyone actually remember listening to it before the full album? I could have sworn to god my first listen of Ultraviolence (song) was right when the album came out, playing it for the first time right after Cruel World.

Alternative Milk is amazing. The vibe gives me Melanie - Evil vibes lol, but I loooove it.
  20. I love the album. Routines in The Night is a favourite, but Vignette is the most Vessel vibes I've heard since that album! So Vignette is also a favourite.
  21. BMTH album and Babymetal ft Ellectric Callboy on the same day??? I am loosing it Also twenty one pilots new album, I know they're not rock/metal but this just adds to my excitement. I felt like almost nothing had happened this year till now

I should have specified- I think they meant the instrumental in the last part. But still, every cinematic dream pop song isn't exactly a lana copy
