Big Bad Wolf reminds me of Red Riding Hood, but only the aesthetic because I always hear that song as a dark fairy tale. It also reminds me Ginger Snaps 3 and I'm tempted to make a little video for it now.

I revisited this album yesterday while playing Animal Crossing and I felt so at home. I've criticised this album a lot but it really is special to me and rather than making me feel sad and nostalgic like all of Lana's previous albums, it makes me think of how far I've come. I think it was because it came out while I was on a break after finishing my university degree and was happy just being free for a few months, finally on my first break ever, not knowing what I was doing yet and not putting that pressure on myself. So listening to LFL connects me back to how my life has unfolded since then, in career, social life and most of all my world inside. I also listened to this album a lot playing the CD in my car as I drove every second weekend to see my boyfriend who lived 1.5 hrs away. Because of that, LFL also makes me think of trying to get back home where I feel comfortable and safe (anywhere my bf is). And it makes me contemplate how my life is going and helps me try to quiet down my fears and anxieties.

Before we knew anything about Wild One, besides the title, I thought it would be about some guy like "oh I love him, he's a wild one" which is more or less the same as what we've heard many times. I wasn't thirsting for it at all. But when it got leaked, I fell in love with it in the first 5 seconds and that only gets stronger with every listen. Both versions are perfection- for once I have zero preference. So I don't think I can judge or thirst for songs based on their titles, as when I have without any snippets I've usually been disappointed. Same with the track titles before we hear the album. I know that sounds ungrateful and i actually hate that I'm a fan who listens to snippets and leaks.... but yeah I'm just tryna say that her songs always surprise me!

This! 2012 too. No one (I think) knew of the lyrics in the Ride demo and that bridge has her most "longing for transcendence" lyrics.

Yeah, then going into Easier than Lying is super jarring. But WOW now at least 3 of my favourite Halsey songs are here! (Easier than Lying, you asked for this, honey, also Girl is a Gun so maybe 4). Easier than Lying is probably my no. 1! The ending! Honey also ends really sweet. Other than those, Whispers, IANAWIAG and Bells in Santa Fe also stand out. More than half the album = success for me. Halsey did so well, and it still seems to just be out of nowhere. I think this is the first time I've been so taken by one of her albums. Even badlands took me a few months to get into and I never fully came around to HFK or Manic in full. I'm really excited for the movie! I won't be seeing it in the cinema but I sure as hell will buy it.

It's like you didn't even read what the original comment was. It was literally "I'm unstanning because she put on some weight". The inner work needs to be done by you. Try learning that people's looks and what happens to their body is nobody's business but their own. Or go talk about weight on the weightloss thread, where it's called for.

Im not a fan of the profile picture Lana has been using, on the shoot of The Greatest. It doesn't look authentic to me, but I know that's a stupid opinion.

I actually thought it was way less controversial than the BTD era, and the most "bold" thing about it was the change in sound. I think that surprised people most. I honestly heard nothing about the backlash until a couple of years later. Maybe I was just really selective with the articles I clicked on (I was not on this site and got all my "news" from actual music news sites lol), but all the ones I read were just describing the sound, the production and the themes, no controversies. Other than that, all I remember is not liking the way it made people on tumblr romanticise and promote "side girl culture" cause that was really icky.

Flux has to be in my top three. I'm going crazy over it! Maybe it's because I was eating skittles while watching the video and the colours were just no but the song really is that good! I do wish the album cover was as colourful bc I love heavy contrasted with bright colours.

It's true, but I have actually heard more artists sounding like her recent work in After School. Lucy Loone, Jazmin Bean and some others give me that vibe, especially in their vocals, though I don't necessarily think they are copying Mel. I still think she did indeed pave the way for them, more or less.
