I like this, its sorta grungy, like the 90s and early 2000's. 

i will never not be confused by what happened to the "25 second heavy guitar interlude" (lana's words) that she talked about being on cruel world like a couple of weeks before it's release

At this rate, I just want to be surprised by something new. In all honesty, she has so many options in terms of sound and genre influence. Either way, can't wait.

I would like more songs like Shades of Cool. Like, psychedelic music, with guitar solos and scat singing 

I was just about to post Portishead vibes too!
Especially if the album was shifting from dirty, organic psychedelic rock (I need more of a hippie era like Cruel World 2.0 rather than Ultraviolence-esque in general) to Massive Attack/Portishead beats with Beth-like stripped down vocals... Something less trap, more downtempo.
 
Something like Anita Lane's "Dirty Pearl".

Lana could easily go back to orchestra X beats without having to do it in the same pop-ish routine as on BtD

i think it'd be interesting for her to go even more stripped down. I'm thinking SIRENS (yes, i liked the JEWEL vibe she was giving) or dig deeper into the world of trip-hop/pop.
 
I would love to see her do some more movie work with trent reznor and atticus ross. I think it could work with the right songs and tone. I would also love to hear her work with Moby, or even have Moby re-work some of her songs should she ever release a remix album.

It's dark, sexy, and subtle but powerful. The instrumental is pretty different and edgy imo, so it would be interesting to hear something like this with Lana.

I think she believes in kindness of the strangers. That is the most important. 

The fact that she posted it at something like 3AM California time could also suggest she's worried about things (i.e., something keeping her up).

Look, thank you for all of the material and info you've given us throughout your time on this board.
 
But you have to admit that you are the one and only cause of all the drama going on in this thread right now. And don't say that it is US users that make all the mess on this thread when you "share some stuff", the mess only appears when you go around saying "oh look at me ladi-da-dee! I have all these unleaked songs oh and heres one lyric from the song, and heres a 10 second snippet. enjoy! look at me! i'm sharing!"..... honestly people have said it here a million times before but if you're not going to share the whole song then don't share anything at all because all you ever do is create more and more drama and mess... it's simply inevitable, people get salty when you only release tiny snippets or one-line lyrics and surely you know that by now after witnessing this time after time 
 
I'm sure that I speak for everyone when I say that we truly appreciate the things you have shared in full, and the info you've provided over time, but tbh we are all sick of the way that you parade around "sharing" hundreds of useless snippets just for attention. And every post you make, I swear you just want more attention. And the fact that you have supposedly been selling Lana's unreleased material, that is just DISGUSTING if that is the case. Not only is it illegal but it's highly disrespectful to Lana and all of the musicians, producers and writers who have actually created the songs then you come along and try to make a profit off of something that you had absolutely no part in creating.
 
And another thing, if Lana "implored" you and begged you to not share anything and to keep info to yourself, then why did you come running straight back to this forum to brag about what she told you? As much as I loved getting the info about LDR5 its disappointing knowing that you've directly gone against what Lana asked of you, as I'm sure she wouldn't want us to know this info.
 
Hopefully there won't be much more drama leading up to the release of the album, but I'm afraid that its unlikely that that will be the case.

I think it's about her feelings towards the two most important/relevant things in her life back then - her career and Barrie. Those two themes are all over the record; she's being sarcastic and plays with the media/critics acting the way they negatively described her (Brooklyn Baby, Money Power Glory...) but at the same time she's suffering over this depressed man and she loves him so much to the point the absolute sadness becomes mutual (Black Beauty, Is This Happiness, Shades of Cool...). I don't think Ultraviolence is a concept album though. These two topics aren't the only ones; her past is still an important subject throughout the project-- West Coast, Old Money, the title track, etc. It's much more conceptual sonically. It's angry (hence the dark and dense atmosphere, the heavy drums on Cruel World or Pretty When You Cry) and basically about being completely lost and mind-altered by the plurality of things happening at the same time (hence the elements of psychedelia, a genre that tries to go deep into the human psyche and emulates the effects of multiple drugs: a constant metaphor on Ultraviolence).

I think she will get a little more upbeat, but not in the same way Born to Die was. I think it may even be a little more like AKA :'), but with better quality studio recording and more mature vocals. 
Thats just my guess from what shes teased already. 
 
From my own little fantasies though, it would so cool if she somehow mixed that AKA style with something a bit spooky like some more amazing strings. Like seriously, imagine Honeymoon hauntingness with AKA cross Ultra <3 <3. just wishes tho......
