About them wanting her to suffer, I don't think they've thought it that far ahead. I think they want her to be happy, but still sing sad songs.
 
I feel like if people paid more attention to her previous work, they'd be able to tell we're not getting the same lyrical content as past albums again. (Like, she never revisited her May Jailer-era even when it would have benefited her)

Cherry is nowhere near being close to the notion the lyrics on UV or BTD had. The " I fall to pieces" almost feels reductive in a way.
 
She has obviously changed with HM. Step by step, she is leaving the destructive self behind. 
 
If you understand anything about Lana Del Rey as an artist, you should have noticed that BTD was an euphoric look back at a doomed relationship. She celebrated the love that was not good for her.
 
On UV she has portrayed the man that was in her life entirely different than on BTD. He was violent, old, quite pathetic. And she closed the album with TOW realising that she will stay alone if she choses to be the other woman.
She actually reflected on what was bad for her and now she is happy, maybe because she was able to sing that.
 
Now Lana Del Rey wants kids and a family.
 
A quick look at the lyrics of HBTB already tells you that she has changed gradually. And on LFL she clearly has a different story to tell. Maybe Cherry is the only tiny bone she will throw at the damaged part of her audience.

I'm glad someone else on here gets it. I'm sick of seeing these kids whine about lana saying "fam" and about not getting what they want, as if Lana is required to set her release date to what THEY want. Wanting her music to leak and turning on Lana so fast... doesn't sound like they were ever fans to begin with.
 
Please... go stan Halsey or some other lesser like Melanie Gonzalez or whatever her name is.

I honestly have subzero problem with that. I already like LFL more than HM and I waited a year and a half I can very easily wait more. And it'll be two days before Lolla yay

Lana can release whenever she wants and whenever she's ready. You can either buy it or not.
 
Lana fans get new albums usually once a year or every other year. That's almost unheard of in the pop world. I stan Xtina and she hasn't released an album since 2012! So get it together and stop bitching. We are blessed.

love being a fan of hers, it is always a rollercoaster ride. however, i truly think she deserves other stans, so hopefully some will finally leave after this era. and i am all guilty for criticizing her, however, however, however, the behaviour so many have shown here being so obnoxiously loud, impatient, dramatic is not just lowkey borderline damaged.

It was messy I guess but 90% of the mess was us. We came up with all the dates and theories (it's coming on the new moon! Her birthday! Spring 2018!). It's like we were given a cake and told it cut it up and share it but someone decided to put their fist through it.
 
Lana didn't really do anything, so it's not like she was "messy" or even inconvient really (it's just an album I suppose haha). We should have just given her more space rather than trying to dig up dirt that didn't exist.

i totally get what you're saying! i was hoping for may 26 also and i was a believer too. too many hints at it, but i'm not upset about the july date and i was laughing at her announcement. i just don't take it too serious i guess.

Some of you really need to take a breath.  Log off for a bit.  Watch some TV.  Pet a dog.  The album release isn't going to end your life.  Stop.

If you're throwing this entire era in the trash for a highly reasonable release date you really need to re-evaluate your thought process.
 
We only JUST got the second single. Sure the first was released in February but that was only because it was leaked. And we're probably at LEAST getting two more singles. And music videos.
 
She has given you guys the WORLD this era. Two songs, two music videos, four magazine covers with MORE upcoming, a livestream, seperate projects to be announced, tons of social media updates, half the tracklist, legendary collaborations (STEVEVIIE FUKIN NICKKKKSSSS), told people to go fuck themselves...
 
And you're genuinely telling me you can't be patient?
