  1. So according to my wrapped... I listened to 163 different genres this year Top Genres: Vocal jazz Dance pop (sounds like a lie but ok) Folk rock Big band Art pop (NOT by gaga, I cannot stress this enough) Top Artists: Lana Del Rey (omg taste!) Grimes Ennio Morricone Jean Ritchie Frank Sinatra
  2. Wait this title actually slaps...neo-futuristic folk
  3. I have to agree with others here. I find that BB has a lot of replay value and I often find myself constantly going back to listen to it. With NFR and COCC, I pretty much stopped listening to it a week after their release. I just don't know what's so different about this album, but it's very solid. Also upon further reflection, I think Lana shouldn't have included The Trio on the album because it's too jarring to be placed with the other songs. I would prefer if she put it on an album where the rest of the songs are in keeping with the whole vibe and sound of The Trio. I'm still eagerly waiting for her spaghetti western magnum opus!
  4. I wish Lana kept her blonde hair for longer, she really suits it. I think she changed it because people kept calling her a Karen and it's quite sad
  5. Valley of the Dolls It could be longer and maybe have some more clear production/mixing. I love the melody and the music itself though, so I wouldn't want any tampering on that part
  6. Yes it is and that's exactly why we shouldn't pay them any attention. At this point it should be more insulting to win one since they're giving them out to anybody #SCAMMYS
  7. I never really thought anything of flamingos in my life before Lana's music, but now they instantly remind me of her (and Lizzy). My phone case literally has pink flamingos on it. They're beautiful creatures tbh
  8. See this is what I thought the Grammys were initially about which is why I'm hating on it now lol, but it seems like any old artist with a mumbling voice and a large Instagram following can get nominated Lana and her legacy are laughing at them all
  9. I can barely name a single song by most of these nominees lmfao what even is the Grammys anymore? Hype hype hype hype hype
  10. +2 for another UV-esque album. I know it's talked about a lot, but UV really was amazing and she shined during that era. As for the actual music, I believe the mellotron instrument is the glue that held UV together and made it so cohesive, so if we don't get another UV, I'd like for Lana to use the mellotron a lot more in LDR9 Just an example below of all the sounds you can get from one instrument. Sounds very familiar
  11. In Venice Bitch when she sings: "Me, myself, I like diamonds" I always hear it as: "Me, my sulphur-like diamonds" but tbh it sounds nice either way lol
  12. Could you explain? I'm curious about this
  13. Bel Air is better as an instrumental than with the vocals. Honestly the instrumental is the most beautiful thing ever but I don't like the melody of the lyrics very much
  14. Exactly bestie. This is why I'm generally annoyed by award ceremonies because they always give in to hype, thus tarnishing their credibility as a committee. I mean there's literally an unreleased Lana song that is suspected to date back to as early as 2004 (almost 20 years ago!!) Even though it's not under Lana Del Rey, it just shows that Lana has so much more artistic experience and validity
  15. Decided to put the rest of her haikus from Violet into one post (I hope mods don't mind? Please delete if it's not okay) "Pink Grapefruit" Babe let's go to town Buy something sweet - pink grapefruit Eat it with sugar - "Sad But Beautiful" Every night I die when I give myself to you Sad but beautiful - "Poets" Poets - like comics are inherently quite sad better off alone - "To Live Is To Kill" I stepped on a bird Cried in my new boyfriend's arms To live is to kill - "Take Me In Your Arms" For years I begged you to just take me in your arms You wouldn't. Couldn't. - "No One's Home" Open the front door Hello I say to no one I know no one's home
  16. My favourite haiku of hers. I'd love for Lana to write more in her new book
  17. I'd love the new album to sound like the love child between Valley of the Dolls and Flipside tbh

  19. Acoustic guitars Strings Bass Real drums Harp Electric guitars Some piano/keyboard (as long as it's included in the guitar heavy songs) Xylophone/Music box Mountain dulcimer We're all set! AOTY incoming!
  20. I remember seeing a guitar in the corner of her bedroom on Instagram live recently (I can't for the life of me remember which one it was), but I wonder if she plays with it. I'd love for Alabama trailer park Lizzy to make her return
