  1. someone recap i am too lazy to look through anything that's over 5 pages old
  2. Tragic kingdom (the song) is incredible tho. One of the best album closers IMO
  3. Talking about a celebrity’s weight isn’t an unpopular opinion, it just makes you a cunt xx
  4. Bestie I think you’re great but you never have a nice thing to say about any artist you follow
  5. Some of my favorite songs are her ballads, so I’m hype regardless
  6. I relate to Lana in the sense that I too am out of the league of every man I’ve had a serious relationship with
  7. anyways album version Lolita reigns supreme. Flipside should’ve been on the standard ultraviolence release. I still dislike Music to Watch Boys To. Groupie Love is one of her best songs. Hope Is A Dangerous Thing is a snore. COCC got better with age
  8. failing to see how lana is promoting an unhealthy lifestyle simply for existing. absolute weirdo you are
  9. That has to be a real instrumental, it sounds so clean

ok i listened on my way home from work and here are my thoughts: i liked it, but again, didn't really connect with any of the songs. i didn't hate it by any means and i plan to listen to it again tomorrow in order to see if my mind changes, but it just...falls flat? it didn't disappoint me, but i am by no means sitting here thinking 'wow, im so glad she spent 4 years making this' also, nothing about this album screams psychedelic? you tell me something has psych vibes im gonna think of the seeds, the flaming lips, etc. it's giving me very much sheryl crow vibes in the 90's lmao. stand out songs for me: 1. the path 2. california 3. secrets from a girl (who's seen it all) 4. the man with the axe im surprised to see so much hate towards SFaG......i actually loved it and thought the outro was cute. Solar power sounds much better when listening to the album as a whole. still can't vibe with mood ring or stoned though. I'm gonna have to look up some links to the deluxe tracks. based on what ya'll are saying here, im intriqued.
  11. I think it was just an ode to the painter Norman Rockwell. He was popular due to his paintings centering on American culture. I’d say the album encompasses what he painted about. And you can def see his influences in lana’s music that’s just my take tho idk if she’s ever spoken about it

I’m waiting for it to drop tonight before listening to it but the amount of melodrama slander in this thread…did not know so many of you were tasteless anyways, can’t say the criticism of the album is surprising. Rich people singing about their healing journeys and how they’re so lackadaisical cuz life is so ~let’s smoke weed and do nothing~ can only go so far before it reeks of try hard. nevertheless, I’m still excited to listen. I’m hoping I connect to the other songs bc the singles haven’t done that for me and if I don’t connect immediately to a song, my desire to finish it dwindles. what are the best songs so far in y’all’s opinion? Also, the fact she went from a critic’s fav to this is

artists who charge over 28$ for a standard vinyl deserve to flop on the charts

all of the songs seem to tread on the same monotone line mood ring is the best out of the 3 though

    Charli XCX

    Wasn’t that the point
  17. If it isn’t Lorde, it’s about Halsey. Rinse n repeat. Halsey and Lana do not sound similar and haven’t in quite some time! They’re not even on the same level musically why must we debate about it still they both just went through the era of tumblr production
  18. Thank you for the explanation! I was one of the people in this thread participating in the slap fight, so I feel it’s only fair that I respond. I do not have bpd, but I do know it can be hard to manage at times. I too struggle with experiences, thoughts, and feelings that others have told me aren’t worth stressing over/don’t make sense, so I apologize for the harshness in my comments. My intention wasn’t to make you feel like your emotions weren’t valid, BUT I am sorry that I ended up doing that. if it’s any consolation, I still cry over my mormon ex that I blocked 8 months ago, so I really have no room to judge in the grand scheme of things much love to you though <3
  19. ya'll were quite literally saying a singer is responsible for your mental health bc she should OBVIOUSLY knows that many of her fans have mental health issues and her being silent is detrimental to it. touch grass. lana del rey does not care about your mental well beings and i don't even mean that in a 'your mental health isn't important' way i mean it in an 'allowing a pop culture figure to have this much impact on your mood/well being is indictive of deeper issues that should be addressed professionally or digging into your unhealed trauma" way. using abuse, ptsd, or truama as a 'figure of speech' when referring to a singer not being in constant communication with her fans is weird. let's not try and flip the script and act like some of you weren't using it literally lol anyways, manifesting blue banisters before thanksgiving yes
  20. this song was destined to be played in a stadium methinks
  21. How are some of y’all this emotionally invested in someone who doesn’t even know who you are
  22. The way family jewels is her only album with no skips
