Billboard seems to think that the Sept 5 album is indeed a musical one, according to their recent tweet and article.

i just listened to the zane interview and it kinda made me like sl and rom a little bit more. the way she talked about the music was that she wasn’t trying to do anything groundbreaking but just make fun music that made her happy and i’m all for that

You know how one of the tropes that feminism addresses is the one where a women expresses a heavy emotion, then a man calls her “hysterical” and tells her to “calm down”?
 
Everyone implying that she must be having some kind of mental breakdown or even outright saying she needs to shut her mouth instead of acknowledging that this is legit how she actually feels (even if they don’t personally agree) has a similar tone.
 
She may “not not be a feminist” but surely some of the people dismissing her as simply having a mental breakdown stand firmly in their feminist beliefs and it seems like a double standard. And while she may be upset, there is a way to criticize the content of her message without dismissing her mental state altogether.

I get both sides, how it can b misconstrued, but she literally explained her reasoning when she didnt have to. Things can't always be about what ur focused on, sometimes being able to say what u'd like to say, is very much needed. Having someone express their genuine thoughts and having that morphed into something w/o having consideration of whats truly being said is INSANE. What about the people who can't speak up bc they're afraid of being in one category or the other? Pain doesnt discriminate, and it's even worse having to deal w it alone, in fear of further being ridiculed.

She literally put out two safer albums, took a lot into consideration, tried playing the game and was paid DUST. All bc her image was something of an outlier and it wasn't serving concepts in a way that people would've liked.

The women are legit GETTING PLAYED. U think that the men and marketing execs don't take into consideration how female empowerment has to be SEXY? Like hell yes POWER TO THE WOMAN FEEL URSELF I STAN. But sex sells, marketing 101. But when a woman wants to express her feelings, mind u, from a genuine, deep rooted place, she gets HELL for it?? What does that say about society? Ur only allowed to be an accepted woman if ur considered SEXY??? It wreaks of all sorts of situations where women are written off, put in a box for having FEELINGS??  Wtf
