  1. I’ve seen some unofficial ones on YouTube that have been filtered really well, but like @@LemonadeHeavens said, all I know of is Doin Time
  2. Thank you! I love that idea. Speaking of instrumentals, I wish we had the NFR ones :/
  3. I made this album cover edit from Billboard 2019 shoot and I would actually really love something in this vein! I tried to replicate her poetry aesthetic mashed with some Slim Aarons realness
  4. I think the same! And with the LFL May 26th date and NFR March 29th date, Lana never said those dates herself - they came from other sources So I think the September 4/5 date is going to happen! Even though she said January 4th for Violet, but a major studio album is harder to sweep under the rug than a side-project like poetry
  5. Partly, yeah! That selfie she posted with Patent Leather Do-Over reminded of the Honeymoon era selfies and the overall dreamy reflectiveness she seems to be evoking, but I was also thinking about the release cycle like @@Dominikx4 said below : The rollout of this record also feels like that of Honeymoon to me because of how it's kind of shrouded in this mystery right now. We have no explicit indication of what the visuals or sound will be and that surprise element also engages me in a different way than when we get snippets! I love both strategies but there's something about the way things are going now with Chemtrails Over the Country Club that feels exciting.
  6. I would assume Lana just misspoke and that the album is coming September 4th 2020, which is a Friday (as someone had pointed out on here already, she said Hope is a Dangerous Thing.. would come out on January 8 and it ended up coming on January 9) and assuming she has the album cover/visuals ready to go, vinyl pressings would start this week/next week as she has stated before she needs to be done a record 90 days before its release date. However, if there is a delay due to Covid-19, then maybe it'll be similar to the Lust for Life release, where vinyls came out later? I'm so excited though! I feel that this pre-release period feels similar to Honeymoon, which a lot of people have already pointed out
  7. I truly believe Ultraviolence, Honeymoon, and Norman Fucking Rockwell! are the trinity of Lana's discography, as these three records allow her to shine with their organic instrumentation and distinct & cohesive sonic worlds. Definitely Lana at her finest and truest in my opinion!
  8. Serene Queen has a slight eerie-ness to it which may help us get a clearer sense of what the original direction of Lust for Life was. Based on what 13 Beaches is now/what Something Real was, as well as the horror-sounding strings present in the Love demo that leaked recently, I think the original album meshed three sounds: vintage horror movie soundtrack strings/soundscape under heavy beats, ambient "spacey" music, and acoustic songs. ^ The presumed original title track, The Next Best American Record, seems to contain all three of those elements, further implying that it was the original namesake of LFL. I believe a tracklist at one point - likely 2016 - maybe looked like this (based on the timeline of LFL songs) 1. Young and in Love (Love Demo) 2. The Next Best American Record - Demo from 2016 3. Something Real (13 Beaches Demo) 4. Hail Mary (if that song is legit, if not then discard this) 5. Serene Queen 6. Groupie Love feat. A$AP Rocky (as this song was done with Rocky in 2016, it is part of the "original LFL") 7. Lust for Life - Demo 8. Beautiful People (potentially the way we hear it now on LFL, just without Stevie Nicks) 9. Tomorrow Never Came (solo acoustic demo) 10. Yosemite 11. Heroin 12. Get Free (maybe "Malibu" if it wasn't deleted at this point)
  9. Thank you so much! I will add those into the OP I take the 3 songs she had prior to working with Jack to be The Next Best American Record, California, and Bartender
  10. NFR! Album Timeline (from what we can infer based on what Lana and Jack have said and conclusions made on LB!) Just thought it would be nice to compile all the info here Early 2016 / 2017 re-work The Next Best American Record - originally written and recorded for Lust for Life in 2016 - NFR version likely rewritten/rerecorded in 2017 with "Topanga lyrics" (in an interview with Zane Lowe on July 12, 2017, Lana stated that TNBAR was "all about Topanga") February - March 2017 California - written/produced with Zach Dawes while Lana had her side-band from December 2016 to March 2017 - additional production with Jack in 2018/2019 Late 2017 Bartender - written/produced with Rick Nowels prior to Jack's involvement - mentioned by Lana to Pitchfork at the Grammys on January 28, 2018 - regarded as "a weird track...[that] doesn't belong to an album yet" Happiness is a Butterfly - Rick is credited as a writer, so we can conclude that HiaB was in its early stages while Lana was primarily working with Rick January 2018 - sessions with JACK ANTONOFF begin At this point, The Next Best American Record, California, and Bartender are the first three songs "finished" for the album. Love Song - written the morning after the Clive Davis Party/the morning of the Grammys (January 28, 2018) with Jack in approx. an hour - first song formally written for the album with Jack Hope is a Dangerous Thing For a Woman Like Me to Have - But I Have it - journaled by Lana slowly over three years - same session as "Love Song" (January 28, 2018) - recorded a cappella / subsequently accompanied by Jack on piano February - March 2018 Norman Fucking Rockwell - confirmed as the third song written in an Instagram Live in the studio on September 4, 2019 - originally titled "Bird World" - regarded as "the cliffnotes of the album" by Jack in an Instagram Live in the studio on September 4, 2019 Mariners Apartment Complex - confirmed as written at the same time/shortly after the title track in an Instagram Live in the studio on September 4, 2019 - referred to by Lana as what she hoped would be "at the heart of the record" in an Instagram Live on September 3, 2019 Venice Bitch - confirmed as written at the same time/shortly after the title track and "Mariners Apartment Complex" in an Instagram Live in the studio on September 4, 2019 - title was used as a caption in an Instagram post of Lana's mural on a building in Venice, California on February 22, 2018 Happiness is a Butterfly - first snippet posted by Lana on March 29, 2018 - marks Jack's involvement with the song since Lana and Rick starting it in 2017 September 2018 - in an interview with Zane Lowe on September 18, 2018 to premiere Venice Bitch, Lana confirms: - the album is called Norman Fucking Rockwell - at this point, it has 11 tracks October 2018 Cinnamon Girl - some lyrics written on October 3/4 2018 after Lana was "fucked up in Boston" (Instagram Live, September 4, 2019) along with "How to Disappear" How to Disappear - some lyrics written on October 3/4 2018 after Lana was "fucked up in Boston" (Instagram Live, September 4, 2019) along with "Cinnamon Girl" - references "Joe," a boxer who Lana is presumed to have had a relationship with - regarded as "the last song recorded" for NFR! by Lana at the Apple Event in Brooklyn, NY on October 30, 2018 November - December 2018 The Greatest - references Lana's comments on Kanye West's Instagram post from September 30, 2018 - must have been recorded AFTER "How to Disappear" considering Lana's activity and references, and comments on/in the song. - potentially "the last song" at one stage of mastering, as Lana confirmed the album was "finished" and "mastered" in an Instagram Live on December 30, 2018. March - April 2019 Doin' Time - recorded for the Sublime doc. produced by Interscope - in an interview with Vogue Korea in May 2019, Lana stated that NFR! has 13 tracks, which would make sense if Doin' Time were the last song tacked onto the record at the time - in an interview with 104.3 MYfm on August 28, 2019, Lana revealed that she wanted to include Doin' Time on the tracklist next to "Venice Bitch" a few days after finishing the track; this makes sense as "Fuck It, I Love You," which appears next to "Venice Bitch" in the tracklist instead, had likely not been recorded yet. May - June 2019 Fuck It, I Love You - regarded as the "last song" recorded for the album in an interview with Annie Mac on August 22, 2019 - the version that appears on physical copies of the record was likely finished and mastered in May 2019, as Lana stated in an interview with KROQ on August 29, 2019, that she has to have finished a record 90 days before the release date so the vinyl can be pressed in time - the version that appears in the music video was likely finished in June 2019, as Lana stated in an interview with KROQ on August 29, 2019, that she "was definitely done [the record] in June, just putting some final touches on it" - the final touches likely being the added "surf drums."
  11. I guess this post from Zach Dawes confirms it was somewhere between February and April 2017 based on her appearance! https://www.instagram.com/p/B1zGvAUH7sH/
  12. Norman Fucking Rockwell Mariners Apartment Complex Venice Bitch Fuck It I Love You Doin' Time Love Song Cinnamon Girl How to Disappear California The Next Best American Record The Greatest Bartender Happiness is a Butterfly Hope is a Dangerous Thing For a Woman Like Me to Have - But I Have It
  13. That's so funny...I thought maybe the "Release Date: August 30th" thing from Lana's store was just the date for the album in general (CDs and digital)/placeholder thing but fingers crossed it applies to vinyls too lol. @@cherriesinthespring did you get that email from Lana's store or your mail delivery service?
  14. Lol mine from the Lana store just says "Release Date: August 30th" and nothing else
  15. Has anyone received a tracking number for their vinyl yet?
  16. Just wondering if the vinyl is expected to arrive on/around the 30th? I know some stores have received CDs and vinyls and have already put them on shelves, but I haven't heard/gotten any shipping confirmation from Lana's store - maybe they'll ship ON the 30th? I remember people getting the Honeymoon vinyl delivered to their mailboxes a few days before the 18th in 2015. Has anyone gotten their vinyl yet?
  17. My top 10 (in no particular order): 1. Venice Bitch 2. Heroin 3. Honeymoon 4. West Coast 5. Video Games 6. Terrence Loves You 7. Black Beauty 8. The Blackest Day 9. Pretty When You Cry 10. Wild On You (Colour Blue)
  18. That’s true. Would the album have to be released on a Friday? I know that’s standard nowadays but if I remember correctly, Ultraviolence was released on a Tuesday in the US.
  19. I wonder if they’ll release the record this Friday, the 23rd, then? It absolutely sucks that the record leaked and to make it worse it was 2 weeks early. Is there any news from someone who’s reached out to Ben and Ed about the potential early release?
  20. I think Venice Bitch could have been at least written in February 2018 because she posted that mural of her at Venice Beach in February 2018 and quickly changed the caption from “Haunting Venice” to “Venice Bitch.” I also wonder if California was one of the songs she worked on while she was in that side band with the guys from The Last Shadow Puppets (as co-writer Zach Dawes is close with Miles Kane/in the same band) which Lana said lasted December 2016 - March 2017 in the LFL interview with Zane Lowe.
  21. AKA is on Slacker Radio. When you buy a Tesla it comes with Slacker Radio music streaming service and AKA is available under "Lana Del Ray." I was surprised when I saw it! https://www.slacker.com/album/lana-del-ray/lana-del-ray
  22. I feel like this could be a realistic setlist for the upcoming tour: West Coast - Dan Heath Orchestral Mix (Intro) 1. Born to Die 2. Cherry 3. Pretty When You Cry 4. Blue Jeans 5. Mariners Apartment Complex 6. Norman Fucking Rockwell 7. Change/Black Beauty/Young and Beautiful 8. Ride 9. The Greatest 10. Fuck It, I Love You 11. Doin' Time 12. Video Games 13. Cinnamon Girl 14. Summertime Sadness (shortened) 15. Off to the Races (shortened) 16. Venice Bitch
  23. No, that’s not what I meant. There was an interview with someone who worked on the film and they rejected the tracks because they wanted score only from this vintage LA radio station for authenticity
  24. I wonder if California and Bartender were submitted for Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. They’re the only tracks Jack didn’t work on (according to the credits) minus The Next Best American Record (but we know that one had been on Lana’s mind for a while). 24 on Honeymoon is speculated to have gotten the same treatment in regards to the James Bond film. Based on the titles of these two I could see them fitting the campy LA feel of the film. I guess we’ll see when the record comes out and if more information is revealed about the songs!
