... and our obsession with Lana isn't?

Exactly. The statement would make a bit more sense if Melanie had said that she never had any sexual relations with Tim and that she doesn't know what she's talking about,  but like said before that's not even the case. In the wake of people coming out and talking more freely about sexual assault in the media (and actually being listened for once); false accusations are a huge step back and a moral no-no, you'd think Melanie would be outraged about it, condemn people who do this because they do a great disservice to actual victims and would state her case telling what really happened. It's been almost a week and this is the best she could come up with as a defense? It's like she's not taking it seriously. I hate to repeat myself but she admitted she was there, her fans were not and don't even know her and she thinks their ramblings towards building an ""alibi"" are enough for her. And cherry on top Timothy needs a healer in her books.

Even if there's a chance Melanie is innocent in this case she just comes across as being so fucking dense. She's crossed the limit where stupidity and aloofness becomes annoying and dangerously inappropriate. I'm curious to know if she's consulted with a lawyer and/or a publicist.  And Timothy also comes off as emotionally immature and she seriously needs therapy. People use it and her mental illness to justify their reasoning on how she could be lying, while it can be possible it also makes someone more vulnerable to toxic abusive relationships forgetting that those grounds actually aren't enough to invalid someone's claims.

i voted for paradise: it was a beautiful ep: short and sweet, we had a short film, the epic ride mv, the last significant tv appearances, a world tour, lana's face plastered everywhere around the world for the H&M campaign -as she deserves - (plus imagine having the people who hated her seeing her on every damned bus station ) , lana starting doing movie soundtracks, the major leaks, the looks, the photoshoots, lana officially closing the BTD era that would end with her album charting indefinitely on BB200 ...

it's difficult to separate the material and content from lana's personal life so maybe this was the worst time for her in term of fame and personal life, i feel a lot for her   anyway i'm blessed because all eras are amazing and i loved this one too

I feel like whenever they put her on a list like this there is always criticizing/sassy undertones. I think it's maybe just me, but I still get the feeling that no one takes her seriously besides us... I think I'm still traumatized by those Lana criticisms from 2012-2014

still doesn't make much sense though, melanie admitted that the sex happened, she wrote "she didn't say no" so she was there, she was a participant so why is she using her fan's sleuthing as proof that it was consensual? Timothy attached a picture, a date and a story to her allegations. If Melanie was wrongly accused she should dispute the time and the date of the fact while also using that picture. (that's what her fans are doing and it seems enough for her) Why does she need people's findings (people who don't even know her) of inconsistency to have a verbal defense of herself while she could give the correct information from her side, it's not like she denied having had a sexual encounter with her.

Her statement does nothing to add to the story, she's just thanking people for their efforts to defend her.

LMAO, and even still, they were just people who completely disregarded the terrible effects of mental illness and self-doubt that Timothy has gone through, and just wanted to prove that they can still like their #fave and call themselves stupid little #crybabies without feeling like a bad person

if she made coachella acoustic and dropped WM, IMF, SB, and honestly prob even WAW she might've gotten a lot better reviews from critics

a big complaint was that there was too many songs, they all praised the first few and the last 3-5 songs but around early middle is where it got hella fatty

obv the more songs she makes the better for us, but from a critic standpoint lorde basically has 9, some kinda mediocre but she's up for AOTY. When you have like 5 great songs and four whatever it makes the album seem soooo much higher in quality and content and value than if you had 7-8 really good-great songs, 2-4 okay to good songs, and then however many which are either sub par, don't fit, should've been standalone singles, or simply didn't reach their potential? it makes the album look worse.

but lbr none of that matters and lana could do a chris brown and drop a >2 1/2hr album and we'd treat it album of the century

also lets not forget decent promo and transparency would've also hyped up lust for life, lana.

remember when we all gagged at the idea of LfL being her radio come back (even her team thought it could've been...then never pushed it )

or how Cherry is easily the poster child for bops in her discog, and yet isn't a single yet

If she had scrapped Summer Bummer, In My Feelings, Coachella and maybe White Mustang, she would've snatched that AOTY nomination :oprah3:

I feel like Honeymoon was the record that really allowed Lana to be herself and was a platform through which she could communicate her internal struggle of the whole persona of Lana Del Rey versus Elizabeth Woolridge Grant. The lyrical parallels in some songs (HBTB and PMIAM from AKA) and themes from songs like GKIT and Swan Song really show this struggle I feel.

The whole record deals with themes of escapism and voyeurism, feeling like you're being watched, and living out fantasies of your own downtime and freedom. The visuals for this era also convey this, what with the whole Starline tours bus - showing Lana, a star herself, literally surrounded in a world of stars, but the obvious factor is that these kinds of Hollywood tours are for the average person, which I think subtly but brilliantly shows the way in which Lana both objectively and personally views herself.

I think out of all her discography, Honeymoon is THE record that she probably let the most go with; she really seemed like she was having a lot of fun with the whole process of creating it and the lyrics are more a tool for imagery rather than narrative, which paints a beautiful picture for the listener. It truly is a shame that it is so under-appreciated by her fanbase.

I think the main encompassing feeling and vibe throughout the record is Lana's interpretation of jazz and timelessness, and what the definition of timelessness is, sonically speaking.

It's so soft and lush too. Someone else said it in another thread, and I completely agree with them - there are so many layers to it, you're definitely going to continue to discover different sounds and instruments the more you listen to the songs and even the instrumentals.

I just love Honeymoon so much - it's my favourite Lana album.
