This shit also tires me like, is there *nobody else* you could compare it to? Does it *have* to always be some comparison or tie back to some artist or band from ye old days? Is the sound really *that* exact? Call me curmudgeon but whenever I see people constantly referring to old bands and dead music movements it just gives me like, "dude in his 60s who only listens to vinyl and thinks musical evolution stopped in the mid-80's and anyone new and any genre new is just mid compared to <insert aged coked out rocker/musician here>"

ANYWAY true romance vinyl arrived we had to smile 

Honestly charli set the bar too high with True Romance- her anxiety and self doubt created one of the best albums of all time and I don’t think she’ll ever come close to it for me. The lead up from great mixtapes to an amazing album was perfect. The way she improved on her songwriting for it aswell meticulously.
 
The only way she could truly achieve a higher album would be to do an expansive concept album and to gain her vocal range back. but I’m content with her fun pop and experimental stuff of course 
I know she loves pop 2 more anyway 

none of these people would have careers without Charli and her contribution to art….

Charli really pushed Bounce while throwing out radio-friendly hits like Emotional, Babygirl, ILY2 as unpromoted mixtape tracks and then wondered why the XCX World era was a bust

Ily2 was really her farewell to the sucker era

Personally it’s my favourite album of hers but it was a grower for me to understand- didn’t really for it in 2015 during sucker but I streamed it a year later and I could hear all the interesting layers and the songwriting really sold it for me- it’s genuinely one of the best things I’ve ever listened to.

finally revisited true romance today for the first time in a while...its so good im so sorry i ever thought otherwise, ive been avoiding it cuz i could not get into it but it finally clicked for me today

How can we even quantify this? Marina is miles better as a vocalist since pop 2 atleast, both are about even as songwriters but charli has catchier melodies- Marina is arguably more involved with her work considering she produces on her laptop by herself and sends to a producer to redo. Charli is a better performer arguably.
