I think we're lucky Lana didn't go the way of Bobbie Gentry tbh. I'm amazed Lana pulled through the sheer amount of criticism/ridicule early on when she could've just said fuck it and retreated from the public eye- especially with how let down if not disturbed she seems to be with the outcome of her fame. I wonder if she ever will retreat to the point where she won't so much as accept calls from any kind of media outlet.
 
Although Bobbie seemed to be more tired of the fact that she wasn't treated as a professional, serious songwriter & producer. She blended genres, designed her own costumes, self-produced, hosted variety shows, I believe created her own coreo, etc etc. but was still treated as some dumb country bumpkin that stumbled into fame.

If she treats Amy how she treated DLMBM I don't want it. Take one of her bops or good ballads then I want something genuinely fun, heartfelt, and emotional
 
She sounded deader than dead and bored on DLMBM. ToW was a good cover, but not great- but good

The annoying thing about that dumbass statement is the fact that, even if someones dad "bought their career" - the artist would still have to be good enough to maintain it which requires actual talent. And of course Lana has in fact maintained her career rather well, so why do people care how she got there? Some people are so blinded by jealousy and hatred that they can't apprieciate real talent when it hits them in the face. Sad.

Bel Air is her single most underrated song and that's the tea.

Same. Before I was a big fan of Lana I saw a vid on Tumblr, someone posted like a compilation of all the times she had smoked on stage and at that moment I was like... ok I get it now

I love Untraviolence but it isn't my favorite album either, and I completely agree with what you've said about Cruel World. It took me a few listens to appreciate UV as a whole but those first few seconds of CW I was fucking hooked on immediately. I got a little bit of this with Heroin when the first 'IT'S FUCKING HOT' comes in but not with the same intensity 

I really want fun, psychedelic, intense tracks. I want stuff to have that CLASSIC feel to it.

OK so I know I've said before that Ultraviolence is my least favorite album by Lana, but nothing she's done has ever topped how exciting listening to cruel world was for the first time. I would kill to get that kind of moment on LDR6. The release of Ultraviolence in general was exciting for me, because it was released in the beginning of summer. It was hot as hell where I lived, and the music really fit that. Especially Cruel World, Guns and Roses, Florida Kilos, and Shades of Cool. Cruel World has that same feel when you listen to some classic album for the first time. The opening is insane. I think it's partially because Cruel World wasn't a single, so you had no idea what this 6 minute opener was going to sound like (unless you listened to the leaks). I want Lana to do THAT on LDR6. I don't care if critics call it vapid or whatever. I want something exciting.
