My "album" of some of Poppy's sayings. (I don't really have all 94 clips.) I wouldn't actually try sleeping to Titanic's music, guys I've listened to my playlist in the car, and it is somewhat relaxing. (Mostly I giggle though because I know what's coming up next.)
  2. I tried to get into SIN but only used it to snag new Lana song covers and then I grew out of it :/
  3. I've been devouring Richelle Mead books this summer. So what do I have to show for it? Shiny new playlists, of course! I love getting to relive my favorite stories through the "soundtracks" I make for them. The "Vampire Academy" series has so many great characters, and evolves over six books from high school dramedy to explore deeper themes of friendship and redemption. Rose Hathaway and Lissa Dragomir are two very different people, but they bring out the best in each other as they try to impact their world for the good.
  4. Missed this before now: Red Lips (DSL Remix) from the Vampire Academy soundtrack. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LoVZp09eFo (So why is the original song on the VA video, while the DSL Remix gets this amateur video...)

    Charli XCX

Which is why we'll never hear it I still want it
  6. Anyone know of a way to purchase Ultraviolence-era videos? It seems iTunes used to have more than they do now :/
  7. I still think Lana is ISFP. (Crediting Maru/PUPPY for the initial insight, of course.) Her Feeling seems decidedly introverted -- she wants to be part of a group of artists, but it seems she is willing to go it alone until she finds like-minded individuals, rather than conforming to one that exists or forming one around herself. I agree that her Intuition is introverted, and it is strong, but her extraverted Sensing seems even stronger -- she seems very much in the present (her songwriting is often in-the-moment) and feeling a need to seek out experiences. I strongly suspect her function stack is Fi-Se-Ni-Te (with a strongly developed third function), thus ISFP. I'm sure enough about the Fi and Ni combination to venture a guess that INTJ (Ni-Te-Fi-Se) is more likely than INFP (Fi-Ne-Si-Te) for Lana. I would be surprised if extraverted Sensing were her "inferior" function... but perhaps that would indicate her willingness to embrace her "dark side" rather than run from it. She does display a lot more warmth than a stereotypical Thinker, but perhaps her middle functions Te and Fi are in balance. A strong extraverted Thinking function would certainly explain her success -- working hard for years until she made it, and remaining satisfied with nothing less than maintaining control of her vision. (Beyond Myers-Briggs to consider the work of Elaine Aron) I also think Lana is a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) who tends to be vulnerable to understimulation, rather than overstimulation like the majority of HSPs.
  8. I saved a few from ldr.fm ...I don't know if they're hosted anywhere anymore, but he did the "God Bless America" mixtape (and presumably the cover for it): http://www.last.fm/music/Lana+Del+Rey/God+Bless+America
  9. Very interesting. Disturbingly similar parallels to certain church groups I used to be a part of that advocated gender roles for modern couples. Especially the power dynamics. :shiver: Get the women into groups without men because supposedly they won't ask too many questions... led by "exceptional women" whose job it is to talk up the male guru's superior insight and connection to the divine... bonus points for crying sessions... Not all manipulative groups are in it for the money. I think some people just really get hooked on the social power. Women as well as men. And vulnerable people let themselves get sucked into the dynamic because at least the attention feels better than the solitude or neglect they're used to :'(

  16. All 5-stars EDIT: Okay, I had to add two 4-star songs, but they're high fours. If these two good albums were combined into one masterpiece like this, it could ALMOST give Born to Die a run for its money ...all IMHO of course. (based on original artwork by musicphani)
  17. Apparently I'm not the first to be inspired by Scott Westerfeld novels to create a fanmix! http://ripplesinwater.livejournal.com/16228.html
  18. There can be a lot of pressure on preachers' kids, actually. Hence the stereotype that they tend to turn out as little angels or little devils. I do think it's "preacher's song," though. It's like a siren song luring its "willing" victims. (Rhymes better with "wrong" and sort of with "gone.")
