My problem with Love / BAR is that it sounds too manufactured.
I mean, I loved Ultraviolence & Honeymoon because they were independant from what people was waiting. It was popy but not easy, it was atypical.
But those two new songs are like syntheses of BTD, PARADISE, UV + HONEYMOON, for some kind of a fan-service strategy. And I deeply don't like it.
As @Constentine says, Emile's samples are too much. It was cool on BTD / P because it was new, but so much years later, it don't feels like before. It's just some kind of uninspired deja-vu gadget.

And in this two new songs I can't aim to localize the sounds. All the previous records was really warm, like seaside, west coasts hot vibes, or some times classy east coast vibes too. But here, it's not warm, but it's not cold. It's just some radio thing. And I can't see anything retro. I mean, a lot of people are saying there's something retro in "Love", but sorry, listen to real retro music, and there's nothing retro in Love. It just sounds like radio versions of LDR songs. Lyrics are really great, and I'm sure the songs could be great as f, but the actual production is really weak, uninspired and unrisky.

I understood why Born To Die was that pop, and heavily produced, but in 2017 I don't understand that whole stepback thing.
BTD and Paradise was uniques at their respective times. We don't need a third segment today.
Hope the whole album will not be like that.

    this is a noisy mess

also Emile needs to keep his stale samples away from Lana.

Honeymoon is my favorite album.. it sounds so mature and I can relate to it so much.. like to me it seems like a big growing point for her. And I also love that it almost has this like Italian vacation feel- especially in Salvatore (duh) and Terrence loves you. It's just such a beautiful and poetic album.

I think it was her most coherent album so far. It's my favorite.
I loved the graphic design ambiance and the videos. My fav song's still Honeymoon and Swan Song.
And I danced on this record more than BTD or UV.
I'm really trustfull for its successor, but I really don't want some overproduced sht like BTD... W&S

My favorite parts of this era were listening to the album several times at the beach and in the car at night/in the rain. I also love the feeling I got from this album while watching vintage surf films. So much nostalgia with this album now. I kind of had to rely on myself for the visuals, so I understand why people are upset. If you find the right visuals for yourself, then this album is golden.

ACTUALLY my favorite part from this era was SEEING LANA LIVE AT THE BEACH!!!! Can't believe i didn't write that first.

I think Old Money, Money Power Glory & F My Way don't match with the rest of UV album.
So i cut this songs and replaced it by Yes to Heaven & Fine China.

And i don't like the Born to Die album (overproduced).

    1. I mean, Summertime Sadness is ANGELIC, but I really love the demo just as much. It gives it a different vibe. It feels almost Hawaiian which is imo the feeling she had when she wrote the song.

    2. I could never hate on lana's voice, but i actually cant listen to the National Anthem demo because of how her voice sounds. It sounds like Brittany Spears was singing with a peg on her nose. Idk why I have that opinion. I WISH i could listen to it and love the demo cause the instrumental and background choir is amazing I hope this opinion changes eventually. Pls dont hate me

    3. I dont know why everyone wants a BTD #2 with more upbeat pop-ish songs! I want her to do something unique, like AKA #2, but better recording. People who want more pop lana should just start listening to marina more or something

I can see this in Music to watch boys to. I kinda dont really know what she was doing there... The underwater shots were the only thing i liked about that video, and the neon sign flickering at the start.
I can't think of any other videos where i have that opinion but on her old, home-recorded videos I used to think the shots of her sitting down, wearing wigs, singing to the camera looked so dorky and embarrassing, but now ive grown to love them and think its cute.

Do You Wanna Come Over is the greatest song of this era (i don't really like the others)
It makes me think of In The Zone / Blackout. The old fan of her that is still in me is really satisfied with this kind of songs.
I love the strange voice on the chorus, and the electronic rythm on the final part makes me think about Björk's Not Get.

Do You Wanna Come Over is the best track from Glory so far, but I really don't feel the album. Yeah, Brit does bubblegumpop but nothing so far was exciting in any way
