I won't judge anybody based on twelve posts except Team, but hey, maybe this has all a bit to do with the fact that we all wait for the new album, we all don't know what to expect and when it's coming out, we all don't know how it's all gonna turn out, because we were pretty spoiled during the BTD era and that we maybe post some random shit all along the way until then, because it's gettin on all our tits.

SRSLY LANA, BRING ON THAT GODDAMN ALBUM!
(and then we will probably hate on each other because somebody loves or hates the album, depends on where you stand)

and that makes it all good for a discussion board, right?

Well, to some people who said that Born to Die underperformed in Europe and that the sales in general were kinda "meh", I really have to disagree. Her album was the 4th biggest selling in 2012 and inside the Top20 in 2013. For an album that got released in January in 2012, it is more than remarkable that it was able to sell that well throughout 2013.

She is one of the best selling female artists (only regarding her album sales) in recent two or three years. Her album has done better than the latest releases of Madonna, RIhanna, Lady Gaga, Kesha, Ellie Goulding, Emile Sande, Miley Cyrus.

Also, don't check Wikipedia for sales and certifications. One example for Wikipedia: the sales in France on her wiki page currently stand at 356k. In truth, she is already over 460k. You get a Diamond certification in France for 500k. Her sales in the UK are almost 900k, around 550k in Germany, over 60k in italy and Switzerland, 100k in Poland (Diamond) etc.

She was only outsold by Katy Perry, Adele, Pink and Taylor Swift. This is a huge achievement for a pop female artist selling 4.5 million records and she wasn't promoted at all in Asia. That is the only territory where she is a non-factor.

First of all people need to understand that Lana's new album is a big project for Universal. A short recording session to finish an album is delusional. Lana was on the lists for most commercially successful albums in 2012 AND 2013 and the record is still selling. They will have a very careful eye on what is going on and how much time and effort she and the producers have put in. Since this is one of the biggest releases for the Universal Music Group this year, people need to get rid of the idea that Lana del Rey is just an iconic head flower wearing hipstar and free-spirit who is doing whatever she wants to do. She has to deliver and if the she doesn't, it will be not only a desaster for  her but also for the label.
This is a multi-million dollar project and Lana is well aware of that. I think she is way more a sassy businesswoman that she wants people to know.

I can understand that somebody reacts kind of agressive to some posts. I mean, it reaches the point that some people ask what Interscope and Universal have to do with each other.   I mean, Google can help.

Maybe she just wanted to tell people with that post that she can finally confirm that Dan Auerbach is involved with making the album. Maybe she will reveal more people who were involved in making the record via Instagramm or Twitter in the following days.

The best case would still be that Universal finally sets an official release date. I am still hoping that this record will come out in May.

    This week at No.39

In the sales climate that we have since over a decade and with declining sales every year, her achievement is more than impressive.

I completely agree, I think BTD did absolutely amazing, especially for her first major label debut album.
I also think it's worth mentioning that more than two years after the release, it's still charting on the Billboard Top 200, and last time I checked it was at 50-something.

    LORD, I need air.

I can't even comprehend your post!

I know that Paradise Vocals were recorded in one take because you can hear the differences in verse 1 and verse 2

Do people here understand what recording an album means? tho

I mean i'm not an artist but at least I know the concept and read about it.

Are you implying when Lana "Record" an album she simply goes in the studio and sing/record vocals and that's it.

Even Zombieney/ Robot ney knows how to pick the good beats over the bad beats and what sound she wants for her album.

So Lana simply walks in and record vocals and Voilà  "UV is finished"

    >...................................................................................................................................................

Anywho, From what I can understand the writing, recording vocals, production are usually fused together.  Lana seems to be that kind.

I can imagine most singer songwriters like Lana would sit down with her writer or producer and craft the song together. Sometimes, the lyrics would come first sometimes the melody. Then she would test the vocals and producer would layer production (simple beats, drums, whatever) to get the feeling of the song. This could take days - months.

After they are happy with what they got, Lana would return to studio to record the final vocals (Main Vocals, Ad Libs, etc) and let the producers cut, paste, master it and produce the song. Once again, weeks - months.

Also, Lana could have an existing song that she had written all by herself. She would go in the studio and work with them to edit the lyrics.

Then proceed to record the vocals. AFter that is done, producer proceed to produce the song and she would advise and tell them the sound she wants.

LAna could also have a finished song, but she wants more. She could go to another producer and let them add their own spin to the existing song.

    .......................................................................................................................................................

An artist like BritKnee for example would just record her vocals and let the producer do all the work since she doesn't write her songs.

Knee simply picks the best production and say what she likes or doesn't like etc.

Hoping for Mike Will Made It

Justin is not on UV and Rick Nowels seems unlikely. Since Tim and Dan Heath do work together many times, they are probably on the album.

Well you know, since she and Dan Auerbach are so incredibly excited to present us Ultraviolence, they should better ask Universal where the release date is at,
Then she could talk about the album and we would know more about the songs and the people involved.

Only Fools run in sounds really dorky tbh and the elvis presley line is fools RUSH in. I mean.. Wise men say, only fools rush in, but I can't help falling in love w/ u~~~~ u catch my drift. If its fake, I'd say its a creative fake track list but I feel like Lana's song titles r usually more unique than these

Well, of course Rob loves the album. Lana is his daughter, that's no suprise he is a fan.
For her, the album is still very close, there is no distance cause it is so fresh. Emotions are running high and you can see in the video that she get shivers and is excited about it.

I have no doubt that the album will be good and I know that Universal has to allow sharing details, but something needs to happen soon and I don't mean "Tropico soon". And that we had to wait longer that she has thought of, was not her fault.
People shouldn't forget that this is a time where she is probably extremly nervous since BTD was / is such an amazing commercial success. If she fails, the crtics will be ruthless.

I'd love to hear an album mainly produced by Emile & Dan Auerbach. Dan Heath with just 2 or 3 tracks.
