SPOT. ON. These are my exact thoughts on her. I've always put emotion and creativity way above technical proficiency - none of my favourite artists are perfect vocalists, virtuoso guitar players, and so on. It's simply not something I value all that much in music, so understandably Beyoncé doesn't do a whole lot for me - I don't see any emotion or artistic creativity there & she's such a control freak she almost seems robotic (yet people give Lana a hard time for not being 'authentic'? lmao, okay). I don't care for her as an 'artist' nor as a person. Add to that her 'iconic' status, and you'll get why she annoys me. And YES, I completely agree that her 'legendary' status was manufactured. A classic case of 'if you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth'. Really curious about that article, off to read it.

Not that we can see.

She likes them rough tough strong and mean.

Someone left a download link for a whole bunch of stuff here in the 1st page, if that's what you mean.

This one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxGNWCqANHA I love Balam Acab & this remix is so soothing, I love it.

Hahaha! I honestly don't even get how she obtained this ~untouchable status. Like, how did that happen? Did I sleep while she was out there conquering the world or something?! I don't think she's as big in Europe as she is the US, so maybe that's why I'm a bit confused as to why she's suddenly the ruling queen of all pop stars? To me, the only truly memorable Beyoncé songs are Crazy in Love and Telephone - and the latter isn't even hers lmao! Idk, maybe I'm just out of touch.

@@lola DYING at Rpatz face in that pic.

Not really anticipating any of these albums, but I voted for Gaga because ~mistery & we can always count on her for a healthy dose of weirdness. And I want Beyoncé to flop because I'm mean and she annoys me as all hell.

That's a shame because she's reaaally good at it. If she released a whole album of that she could take my money tbh! She was so damn hot in Spring Breakers & so natural at playing the sexy dirty provocative girl... almost too natural, if you know what I mean. I'm so dumb tbh, I'd never put 2 and 2 together. And I'll take your guide & give her music a chance, for sure!!
-
OK so this is kinda embarrassing BUT Never listened to anything else she's done though.
-
LMAO yeah, that must be it. 'Cause TMZ, The National Enquirer & Star (to name a few) are real classy.

I get what you mean, but at the same time why would she remove what's probably her most popular and commercially successful single from the album (a single that coincidentally has little to do with most of her previous work)? I agree that hip hop artists tend to victimise themselves a lot, but whenever they sign to major labels (because releasing their own albums independently quickly becomes financially unsustainable) they're subjected to a lot of pressure to make their music more 'accessible' and commercial, so I do get where they come from -- and I suppose said pressure increases tenfold if you're a pretty girl with the pop marketing potential that Iggy clearly has.

I believe she confirmed that Work will be on it.
-
Work is on the list, though.

Apparently Iggy never liked it all that much, and was pressured into releasing it by her UK label because it was radio-friendly. They actually wanted it to be her first single, which she vehemently refused. She thinks Bounce doesn't fit her album; she tweeted "faith has zero to do with something flowing and belonging to a body of work. Either it fits or it doesn't and it does not." She also said "FYI. Those are not the official names of songs on my track listing I tweeted. Many are just beat names I've recorded to." She doesn't sound too happy about how the music industry works, in general...

Eh oui, pas très couramment mais je me débrouille. (I'm actually Portuguese btw, not Swiss; I just live here.)
-
I saw her at Paléo Festival in Switzerland, in 2011. And you?
-
Thank you, and you like PJ Harvey too, so right back at you! A concert of hers about 2 years ago is one of the best I've ever been to!
-
Mission accomplished.

OMG Rose Byrne?! Never knew she had it in her tbh. This is awesome, I guess I'll watch Get Him To The Greek after all.

Dirty Beaches - I Dream In Neon

Ooh, I like that cover! It's not the most original one or anything, but Sharon has a great voice & the heavier instrumentation fits the song nicely. I used to be kinda into metal a few years ago, but it was mostly doom. The symphonic / gothic stuff was never really my thing, although I did like Lacuna Coil. I saw Nightwish live once and it was okay, but other than a couple of songs I could never get into their music.

I also have some trouble buying an actual meth addiction tbh. Meth really is bottom of the barrel, only second to, what, bath salts? She was apparently an alcoholic who also did a fair bit of coke... maybe she was an occasional meth user and had those 'bad experiences' she's mentioned a few times in interviews while on meth, and maybe that scared her enough to want to get completely clean? This is just me speculating, of course... Where the hell do you guys buy cocaine this cheap?! Here the going rate is almost 50 euros for 1 gram! You tried acid?! Actual LSD?! That's my dream drug! I've been wanting to try it for such a long time but I've never met the ~right people for that, the ones that claim to have it always try to sell me cheap knockoffs like DOB or DOI. Anyway, how was it for you? And omg, me too! (I'm not even surprised anymore... ) Even though I'm pretty thin, I can handle my alcohol way better than most men.

The original japanese version The Ring (or Ringu) scared the shit out of me - and that's saying something, 'cause I'm not easily creeped out by films. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) is genuinely disturbing imo. Not exactly 'scary', just plain old psychological terror. I'd also say [Rec], Suspiria (I love Argento's films!), Village of the Damned & Children of the Damned (there's just something really creepy about evil kids, idk) and Hostel (yeah, it's exploitative and pretty stupid, but it's one of the goriest I've ever seen).
