i got around to listening to the full album today and idk as a casual listener i loved it, surprised the general reception has been so underwhelmed but maybe it’s just too european of a vibe

Taylor once again repeats herstory - every top 10 song on today's Billboard Hot 100 is hers, with Post Malone sharing the first place and Florence sharing the 8th place. I love Taylor, keep breaking records! 

i hope we get a music video or smth on may 3rd (a fortnight from the album) 
 
why is she not promoting one of the best albums in her discography (controversial, but i said it!) 

can we talk about how she’s one of the greatest pop acts nowadays? 

Omg sorry this is activating my crazy swiftie side because that’s actually ridiculous. There is no way this album is THAT bad to people.

I have literally listened to nothing else but this album this week. I already have scrobbled it 1,000 times. It's soooo good. I hate all the critics and Twitter warriors fighting about her being "too much" or "too rich" or "too big." 
 
The music is not about being a billionaire or being a beloved popstar, it's raw and real. I don't think I've clicked and related with an album this much since Red and NFR!

i mean they are kind of calculated? a lot of the bad reviews feel like they just went through twitter to find all of the "hot takes" to increase their engagement. They also probably see the shifting opinion on her and want to capitalize. i genuinely don't see how this album could be anything less thana 70 to a critic but whatever. 

Fantano is ripping this album apart and it’s actually so embarrassing and making him really not respect him. I actually enjoy watching his reviews even when I disagree but wow the clip I saw of him reacting to it was just bad. He was just regurgitating the same tired Twitter takes that weren’t even about the music lol. Calling her creatively tired and a “perpetual victim” (which we could have an entire conversation on that critique and how irritating it is but whatever). The reviews on this album are so biased and I can’t wait in two years when people realize this is top 3 if not her best record lol.

No, seriously there was zero need for her to post that. She could've just stayed silent if she's not a fan. 
 
I honestly feel like people are just triggered and bitter by how much the GP (outside of stan twitter) still likes her/streams her/goes to her shows. Granted my TikTok algorithm is biased, but, almost every random video is using a TTPD song - and even my coworkers are talking about their favorite songs off the album.

i need an album with a bunch of i can fix hims. it isnt even my favorite on the album, it’s my #3, but that production is glorious. i didnt realize how much i missed her old music until i listened to this and guilty as sin.  hopefully jack brings this energy to lasso

I absolutely love this album but I definitely would love an album full of cruel summers and getaway cars as well, in fact that was my prediction originally for this album as it was being released right before summer. I’m def happy with what we got though! Also interestingly enough I find these songs super catchy, even though I know they aren’t typical “hit” melodies. 

no one seems to be clicking with clara bow as much but i love this song so much. especially that bridge

I’m so deeply in love with this album. I couldn’t tell you what sound goes with which song yet but it’s so good

That second part is just not true, I am an Olivia fan as well and everyone thought it was super fun and cute that the records each had a different deluxe track on them. 90% of people were not throwing money-grab accusation against her or acting like it was some moral failure to “withhold” tracks. It the same with the jet stuff. So many celebs use their jet way more than Taylor and get no flack for it. Beyonce and Dua Lipa both recently posted photos in their private jet and everyone was just like “yasss queen”. Taylor gets a disproportionate amount of hate about these things because she’s so controversial to people they will cling onto anything and everything. Again I’m not saying it’s not bad, because it is bad.

The Chemtrails album cover was worse than the question for the culture post. 

Taylor album lead-ups are soooooo boring. If we were less than a month out from a Lana drop, we’d have some girl trying to record her cassette player, some Polish lady with the sock, a bunch of indie retailers accidentally getting albums early, and a bunch of rumors of a double album. 

I mean at least she’s not torturing us with makeup and hair care lines or weird brand deals and is just putting out more music
