I don’t think there were that many bombastic songs scrapped from NFR, but they could be the foundation of the next album perhaps or the direction of it at least. Imagine if she mixed these Jack tracks to others from other producers as well

Imagine if the next album has her biggest successes ever

Norman Fucking Rockwell - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll

Hope is just so beautifully heartbreaking, these days, with the fucking Omicron variant taking over the world -
Lana and FJM… May the gay gods hear you.
-
I think that special project is the cover album… Why do I think that it was confirmed though? It’s getting harder and harder to figure out what anyone means around her these days lol
-
My main question, at the moment, is if DNC has something to do with the covers and country album (although, with its wave design, I don’t think it does). Watch her pull another double release in 2022… if not triple, if the audiobook is still happening that year.
-
The DNC logo, on her jacket, with its wave, better have something to do with the general feeling of the song (at least).

Lol! just read a few pages back… i Love prerelease: the whole theories based on a cryptic and vague story post from her stylist (that got us all excited over almost nothing in the COCC era). we truly never learn and go back for more. Never change, LB, never change
-
Interesting! although, since NFR, all of her albums are considered solid by the GP. i do see her albums as pairs: BTD - Paradise / UV - HM / LFL - NFR / COCC - BB so the next one should open a new chapter that could follow with the one after. I really hope she switches up a little and goes a little more upbeat this time.

Blue Banisters - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll
GeminiLanaFan replied to Elle's topic in Post-Release Threads
Amen! Chemtrails has some of her best songs but its lows are just too quiet and hard to connect with. Blue Banisters has much more passion to it and is more diverse and stronger overall. -
I do prefer Blue Banisters overall as an album, but Chemtrails does have some of her best songs ever. It really is a winter album, with its highs becoming more vibrant : White Dress, title track, TJF, Yosemite, Dark But Just a Game. If only she had pushed the production a bit more for some tracks (Wild at Heart, Breaking Up Slowly, Let Me Love You Like a Woman), making them more « desert rock », more guitar-driven, it would be a perfect album, one that feels a bit more « finished » IMO.

Blue Banisters - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll

Lolll although I agree that BB if far superior IMO, I must say that the best tracks of Chemtrails really hit so much more this time of year. The minimalism feels very « winter ». But agree that many tracks are not bad per se but are harder to connect with (For Free, Dance Till We Die). Even Wild at Heart could have been so much wilder lol. -
It was totally by accident. I wasn’t a big fan of her at first (I liked a couple of her songs and that’s it). But I started watching Tropico when it was out and became obsessed. I then typed her on YouTube and listened to released and unreleased thrown in a mix, not knowing which songs were unreleased / leaked. A quick Google search informed me lol when I realized that if all of those songs were from BTD, that it was the longest album in history haha

"American Standards & Classics" Cover Album - Pre-Pre-Release Thread
GeminiLanaFan replied to Elle's topic in New Releases
Her covers used to be mainly 50-60s songs until recently… I’m still wondering if there are some songs that could be too « recent » for this project. -
The only Grammy that would matter to me would be a Lifetime Achievement Award, somewhere down the line. Other than that, the Grammy’s are just not that relevant anymore, with the whole music industry that completely morphed since a couple of years, and this year’s noms show that they don’t know how to fit anymore with all of those changes.

Blue Banisters - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll
GeminiLanaFan replied to Elle's topic in Post-Release Threads
It was suggested when she posted about the cover album, when she was at Capitol Records… I don’t know what are the « proofs » of Marie Claire though, if they know something we don’t..: -
Everyone is overreacting at the sight of Jack again if the next album is indeed « country », they could include Hey Blue Baby on it. Or maybe not. anyways, he did produce Taylor’s All Too Well 10 Min version, which is magnificent. As long as his involvement sounds original, I’m on board (and I doubt he has time to produce the whole album).
-
It really gets better with each listen. Even the damn kid doesn’t get as much on my nerves as the first time. And that last voice memo, I mean 😭
-
the album is way better than 25. I’m surprised how « r&b » ish it sounds. Strangers by Nature sounds like an old Disney song, in the best way; Oh My God is stellar; love Can I Get It, All Night Parking. i still don’t love Easy on Me though. My Little Love is good, but may rely too much on her voice notes from her son, but that last voice note: fuuuucccckkkk! How vulnerable is it and powerful? i Drink Wine may be too gospelly / psycho pop at first, maybe it will grow on me. Hold On works better on that genre, IMO. To Be Loved is incredible. Love Is a Game is reminiscent of the Disney sound and is soaring majestically. Time will tell if I’ll revisit that album much in the future, but I’m happy to really like it and don’t feel underwhelmed like I was with 25.
