Well not surprised and my recent posts confirm so. She will give us some weird info on the album soonish. no Jack, no Rick, only one Mike song… This is turning out to be the Zach-Gabe produced-album. Or maybe someone is else is also involved. anyways, I’ve been listening to Violet for the past few days and I’m kinda more excited about BTIG than LDR8 at the moment

I mostly expect a post from her this weekend “explaining” what is going on or some sort of weird update. Maybe it will be surprise dropped, but I am not getting my hopes up. I wonder if Chemtrails was meant to be “as big” an era as it was, with two big budget MV, lots of merchandise and lots of vinyls, if this is what she really wanted or something she did for Interscope. Maybe they’ll let her surprise drop if it was the case ?‍♂️

Major publications have their release dates either by an official publication by music companies or by the social media announcement posted by the artist themselves. In her case, they took her selfie post. Like I said a couple of times, Lana doesn’t seem to update much anyone on her process and since July 4 is still the last date anyone got from her, it’s the date they are running the article with, until further notice. Even BoZ can’t confirm if it’s still on the table for July 4.

Nothing surprising. I don’t think it’s coming on the 4th. However, wasn’t it that site that said LFL was released on May 25-26 until she finally cleared the air? So maybe not all hope is lost.

The title changed so many times that if it’s not on the official cover art that will be on all streaming services, I won’t even believe it.

It’s possible… and yet, with LFL and Chemtrails, she did give us an update of some sort around the date that was rumoured to be the release. This is what I am expecting a week from now. But hey, if it’s a whole album, I won’t complain either

I really think Lana doesn’t update anyone very often on the progression of her albums. BoZ and a couple of others “insiders accounts” on Twitter (who take every source possible of information and retweet them) still don’t know if the date was changed, and the last given date is still July. Besides, I remember he spilled about the era’s start (when he said the first single was coming in two weeks), but he doesn’t seem to have all the info about what the plans are (unlike Eclipse, but I wouldn’t be surprised if both of them were scrutinized by her team). So, until there is an official Memo circulating with the real date, nobody will have a definite answer, and July 4 is still a possibility for now.

Maybe she does want to surprise us for once… True, we have a date, but the title has apparently changed, there’s no preorder in sight and the singles were all released separately, therefore making it harder to know in advance the tracklist. And maybe she did tell Interscope that physical copies had to wait for this album since they messed up THREE album releases because of copies sent way too soon.

Either it will drop on July 4 as promised without any other single, or it’s gonna be a short pre-release with preorder around that date, I think. Three singles is a strategy i haven’t seen very often (I can’t even remember an artist doing that as the “lead single”) and it’s blurring the lines a bit.

I’m thinking the same, it could go either way: super good and fan fave or horribly wrong. I began getting curious when she said it was a Zach song. I just hope there is some sort of “context” or “reason” for her screaming on the track (like all the songs where she uses her falsetto is pretty much when she feels “vulnerable”)

Lana is at a weird point in her career that not matter what she does, no after who her producer is, no matter what “promo” (or lack of) she does, she will displease people here. Our expectations are our worst enemy when it comes to her albums. Early on with the RCS post, I expected some summer bops with a bit of Uv, and it kinda “ruined” the three singles for me at first. Even with the snippet, I didn’t think we’d get those super personal and ambiant tracks à la Heroin. But they are honestly great. I can’t wait to hear the overall sound of the album and if Mike got a larger collab than what was originally planned. And can’t wait for the Zach tracks
