I think her managers may see the poetry as good marketing for the album, they know only her fans will probably be interested in the poetry but more people are open to her music. If she releases the poetry soon before the album, her name will be spoken about in general on the internet all the music sites etc will be tweeting about how Lana Del Rey has released a poetry book. People will see it and wonder why she is writing poetry even if they don't check it or bother about it any further but then when they see a week or 2 later that she has released an album because her name was recently mentioned and noticed a lot by people and fresh in their memory and they will be more likely to check out songs from the album. Thats what I would guess anyway.

Yeah I remember that, I think she said she had Mexican friends in Florida (Miami?) who she spoke spanish with. It's weird how much stuff she has lied about, maybe she is a crazy fantasist and almost nothing shes said is true. I don't believe she was an alcoholic either - it would make sense she just made that up as the reason she went to boarding school - it doesn't sound cool to have went to boarding school because you were rich and your parents sent you compared to you being wild and an alcoholic and having to be sent to be kept off the streets lol Probably a same thing with the Spanish, she probably had a Spanish tutor or something to learn it but she just says she learned it by speaking to her Mexican friends in Florida.

7 months ago the time has actually gone in quite quick but imagine back then thinking 7 months later we'd still not really know what was happening.

I had never heard of her before but I liked the couple of things I seen posted on here so i'll listen to it.

I like it because it sounds good to me, it's kind of soft, melodic and chill - I would liken it to Lana songs like Salvatore, Money Power Glory and FMWUTTT where theres not really any depth or brilliant quality to it but the songs just sound nice. I was kind of disappointed in the album though as I thought there may have been a couple of songs with more depth to them but the whole album was really similar to me. She is also only 17, I dont know how much of the lyrics she writes herself either so I probably shouldn't have expected any songs that I connected with.

I thought when she posted that list about becoming an instagram baddie and closer to god she was mocking people and making a joke of it but it actually seems like it's what she's doing

Im from Scotland and didn't hear of her until probably 2013, possibly even later 2013. I don't know how I completely missed what seemed to be the biggest thing in music in 2012 here. Great sales though and probably will never be beaten, 117,000 in its first week would top the charts in America in probably 45 of the 52 weeks a year now.

Im a Young Thug fan and a lot of his songs get leaked and I remember an interview like a year or a year and a half ago with one of his producers and he said that now they only keep 1 version of the song and the instrumental and he wouldnt even send it to Young Thug for him to have a copy as people would steal the hard drives or phones with it on it. Must work similar with Lana. I would guess when people manage to steal the songs they probably just look on social media to the biggest known or most popular fan pages and try and sell the songs to them for them to leak or something. Lil Pump also claimed that he had his new album on a laptop I think and the laptop was dropped into a hot tub or pool and all the songs were lost and had to be re-recorded as they only kept 1 copy. Don't know if its true though.

Do you think Lana will ever do a song about death? Was just thinking what type of songs I would like to hear from her and she has a good variety of types of song but there is no real uplifting/emotional/sad song about death. A lot of artist have songs on the subject either ones about themselves possibly dying or ones about someone who has died or remembrance of people, those types of songs people say "play this at my funeral" and she could probably do a great one.

Beyonce probably the best example, she just turned 16 before this And is still big arguably still the top female over 20 years later.

This is what they predict her sales will be this week in the USA Billie Eilish (Darkroom/Interscope) 245-265k total activity, 145-155k album. Surprising to me as thats really good and almost 2.5x the sales of Lust For Life, I didnt really think she was that popular already.

You never know if thats true though or someone just made it up. If it is true we don't know wether the person contacted them or if they just heard 2nd hand through someone else who knows one of the friends that they don't like him.

If they do then we can talk badly about them but until then, let them live.
