I really don't want to reignite the flame of this topic, just want to say that this is the most adult post in this entire thread lmao I really hope some of you guys are under 18 or something, bc firing someone is not as simple as it is in movies and cartoons and shit (like, the boss just yells ''you're fired'' and the employee leaves with their stuff in a box)

I was an intern in a public government company and there was a similar case. Someone made an anonymous report that this guywas involved in sketchy stuff (not DV, but it was a crime nonetheless). But he had worked as a government employee for over 10 years or so, and, in Brazil, you can't just fire someone who's worked as a civil server for over ~3 years. There needs to be a very good reason to do so and you have to go to court. The first thing the company did was investigate the anonymous report, bc they couldn't just take it at face value. Then all the other bureaucratic procedures followed.

It really isn't the same thing and idk how USA laws work thank God, BUT, I understand that if the police is involved, ppl just can't go yap about it on Twitter. Even the victim seems to have quieted down. That probably indicates that she went to the police and has a lawsuit going on now.

This def sounds like it was recorded in 2021. I mean this in the most neutral way possible but you can hear that she was plus-size when she sang this. It’s fierce

DV survivors deserve solidarity and justice, not the right to harrass random people who have nothing to do with it
+ How exactly does any of this help her?? Such cases settle in court for a good reason

So basically some guy has a job: provides services for customers of customers of the company he works for. One of them randomly being Mrs. Lana Del Rey
He is accused of being an abuser: harsh punishment deserved if true
    >>> why is that girl not suing him instead of involving random customers in this? Girl go to the cops, get yourself a lawyer!
    >>>>>> what does it even have to do with Lana? Leave her and her relatives alone!!!!

I just don’t see how wether he works for Black Box or not makes a difference? She employs a security company, she doesn’t hire their staff for them, she may also have reason to believe these allegations may not be true. Not saying it’s not, but she has crazy fans sending all sorts of things to her and her family members, she’s had people in her house etc, we don’t know if she knows this girl is actually connected to him and not just someone else in their DM’s.

How would this be Lana's fault, he's probably a third party hire and the company he works for is responsible for vetting him. Idk what's going on with Ben, or where his PR is cause they never seem to get their image together, it's so annoying. Maybe they're studying how to fire him, what new company to hire since they manage artists they probably have a deal with this security company????? I don't know, you don't know, no one knows. And if is a third party company, do they also work with the other artists Ben manages? What are the logistics of that?
Maybe they're vetting the girl's claims and all that corporate shit.
Some people just seem to jump to the worst conclusions like who knows what is going on, maybe they already requested a different bodyguard for Lana? If he works for an independent company I can't imagine Ben just walks in and is like yo fire him. If he's not a third party contractor then they'll have to break contract. Truth is, we simply don't know.
And if you just think Lana is the worst person ever just leave, don't stream? Like I don't know what else to tell you.
I really hope the girl is safe though and I'm sorry that happened to her.

It is not Lana's responsibility how her hired security allegedly behaved or not behaved in the past. Should she just be omniscent and know everthing about everyone?
  17. Tristesse liked a post in a topic by jimmyjimmycocoapuff in Paradise is an album. Yes or no?
I'm so done with all the EP/Album discussion, people are so nitpicky about it, especially with Ethel Cain's new release. It's come to the point where there's more discussion about "why is this an EP it's 90 minutes" than the actual music itself. I don't see why it matters, it's just a technical thing, a decision made by the artist or the label. It's like bickering over the packaging of a salad, I don't care about the box just lemme eat my fucking salad
  18. Tristesse liked a post in a topic by bvnnysworld in Paradise is an album. Yes or no?
    I say yes!

I see lots of people arguing about this for some reason? And I just wanted your opinions.

Lana’s Spotify description (before it was changed to blank) stated that Born To Die was her debut album (which I agree with) and Ocean Blvd’s album cover states that it is Lana’s 9th album.

Therefore, since BTD is her debut, Paradise would have to be considered an album to make up the 9, no?
    1. BTD
    2. Paradise
    3. UV
    4. HM
    5. LFL
    6. NFR
    7. COTCC
    8. BB
    9. Ocean Blvd
    (and 10 obviously TRPWS)

Not only that but it’s listed as an album on Spotify and it does qualify as an album not an EP.

I personally believe that Paradise is a separate album!

Now I’ve tried to have this conversation with people before but they were always on the defensive for some reason and I was hoping to have a decent normal person conversation with people about this topic.

Some of you be saying anything I'll just post a quote from Dean Reid (one of her collaborators) about how Lana hears music, and many of the things you mentioned are intentional.

Dean Reid: “We do a lot of low-pass filtering and lo-fying to take the edge off the high end. We use plug-ins all the time to darken stuff. With vocals and acoustic instruments I’m always notching out harsh frequencies. Any high squeal or ring will be sucked out. Lana likes to listen to things on her iPod on the beach, and she wants them to sound murky and mysterious. We’re very conscious of that. If we do something that doesn’t fit and that sticks out, we immediately get reactions from Lana or Rick. There is this thing about Lana that if we know she’ll be showing up in half an hour, we have an instinct about what she’s going to like and what not, and so it’s like: ‘Hurry up and make it sound good, so when she walks in the door she’ll be smiling.’ And if she’s not smiling we know how to pull it together really quickly. But she’s in the room for much of the process, and incredibly meticulous about vocal levels, for example. A lot of the vocal rides are dictated by her. She hears 0.2dB differences in volume, and when we got the first mastered songs back, she was really dismayed by how they sounded, and it turned out to be the dithering down from 24- to 16-bit that was bothering her! She has great ears and an impeccable sense of aesthetic.”

Pink Champagne does not suit COTCC at all, Let Me Love You suits COTCC perfectly. PC is Ultraviolence all over, it wouldn't have suited the folksy soundscape of COTCC

Although while I love PC more, I still love the warmth of LMLYLAW.

I consider PC and LMLYLAW two different songs because the difference is like 180 degrees.

And people like to blame Jack for the change while I totally feel it was Lana behind the change because well...it was so Lana, the way she promoted that song as putting it as the lead single with a performance at Jimmy Fallon's show.
