I'm interested to see what songs people would choose for a Lana Del Rey re-release. Obviously without it being a 40 track compilation. I've created two hypothetical anniversary release templates for Born To Die and Ultraviolence, to see which which songs you would bring out of the vault and release officially. I've included any official bonus tracks as well as the alternate radio mixes from each era. I think for completion sake any demos or officially released leaks should be excluded? Born To Die (10th Anniversary Edition): Ultraviolence (10th Anniversary Edition):

Honestly I condensed it to a 12 track album and it's definitely an amazing record! 01. The Grants 02. Did You Know That There's A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd? 03. A&W 04. Candy Necklace 05. Paris, Texas 06. Fingertips 07. Grandfather Please Stand On The Shoulders Of My Father While He's Deep-Sea Fishing 08. Kintsugi 09. Let The Light In 10. Fishtail 11. Peppers 12. Taco Truck x VB

Aren't her and Lana Del Rey both signed to Interscope? Maybe after the success of Say Yes To Heaven they're considering releasing some unreleased Lady Gaga material whilst she's not making new music? They gained a lot of success and momentum from Bloody Mary that I'm sure the label don't wanna lose whilst she goes back into acting. I think this could be a common thing now that Taylor Swift (with The Vault tracks and All Of The Girls You Loved Before) and Lana Del Rey have released leaked/unreleased material officially and it's been a success!

Which non-folk singers would make an amazing folk album?
bored replied to Madonna Thor Complex's topic in Music
For me I'd be most interested in a Kesha folk record... Something in the vein of Spaceship! I think she'd shine on a full project like that and Gag Order has really shown how much potential she has. Also, I see Miley Cyrus being a good candidate for a modern folk record, she's obviously dabbled in country but the thought of something in the sonic realms of She's Not Him or Fweaky makes me excited! Both these artists could really make a psychedelic folk album and it's something I'd love to see! I know Lana Del Rey dipped her toe in to the folk water with some of her last projects but I think she'd be able to make it a commercial success and it not seem too off brand? -
So I've been imagining what a Lady Gaga: The Eras Tour would like and honestly I think it would be pretty epic! My setlist:

I kinda interpreted it as she is the Candy Necklace, all these Hollywood starlets who she's looked up to, referenced and idolised throughout her career are the diamond necklaces? It's kinda like she wanted to be those women, it was her dream, but now she's satisfied as a Candy Necklace, it's not materialistic, no body desires a Candy Necklace. She doesn't want people to feel the way she did and need to be inspired by these women, losing themselves in a character, for her that's Lana Del Rey and what her career began as? She wasn't want or need to be a diamond necklace anymore. I think we've seen her be less glamorous and cinematic in her last couple of eras throughout the visuals and she seems genuinely happy! The video is set in New York throughout (in black and white) and yet it ends in colour in Hollywood, her home now I guess and she's smiling without a necklace. Feels like another reference to an unhappy personal life in her early career compared to now? The Hollywood star scene feels like a moment, her way of calling out the critics? How she doesn't get the acclaim and respect she deserves as an artist.

[SINGLE] Say Yes To Heaven + Sped Up Remix + 7" Picture Disc - OUT NOW
bored replied to hotshot2am's topic in New Releases
I just think her or her team have missed the opportunity already? I would fully support an unreleased record, if it was material from the archives that we'd never heard! However I just think if they were planning to release leaks something would've been done for the 10th anniversary of Born To Die in 2022? Of course I love a lot of her leaked material but it's there, it's accessible, unless it was re-recorded or had new production elements (like Thunder or If You Lie Down With Me) then I don't really see a point? Say Yes To Heaven was a missed opportunity, which kinda proves if this unreleased album is a thing then they aren't doing it for the streams or money, otherwise they would've been dropping these singles as they were trending on tiktok etc. In a dream world it's something that Lana would fully commit to in the future (like what Madonna is allegedly doing with her back catalogue), giving us an archive from each of her projects with demos, alternate mixes, never heard before tracks and final masters of the leaks! Package that with some unseen imagery from the album shoots and I'd buy every single one! But judging by the way the Blue Banisters tracks were handled it's gonna be a YouTube to MP3 affair with fan voted top 10 leaks... And I just don't know if her artistry needs to go from albums like NFR! or Ocean Blvd to a compilation of Serial Killer's and Dum Dum's? -

I personally don't think an unreleased album would benefit her discography unless it was material that we've never heard before? They had the opportunity to start something with the 10th anniversary of Born To Die... A "from the vault" situation if you like where they released the final versions of some of the leaks we have from that era, fan favourites or songs Lana loves! And this could've been continued throughout the decade anniversaries of each album. I'd take a full release of AKA as it is or re-recorded as I do love that project. But yeah I don't see the appeal of that will likely be a compilation of YouTube rips with no real concept or cohesion. -
I compiled the new EP with some other acoustic versions and it's a pretty cool album: 01. Borderline - stripped in Brazil 02. Call On Me - stripped at SG's 03. Sweettalk My Heart - live at VEVO 04. Suburbia - stripped in UK 05. Pineapple Slice - stripped in Norway 06. Grapefruit - stripped at home 07. How Long - stripped at home 08. Dancing On My Own - triple j Like A Version 09. No One Dies From Love - stripped in France 10. Habits (Stay High) - stripped in France

Miley Cyrus - Endless Summer Vacation This one has been bothering me for a while, Handstand felt like such an obvious opener! I also didn't enjoy the AM and PM concept... Muddy Feet should've been solo and longer! And Island, I love the verses and pre-chorus in all its Careless Whisper glory, but the chorus is dull and gets a bit boring towards the end. Cutting it to 10 tracks and this is a really solid effort.

Finally feel like I've gotten this to a place I'm extremely happy with! Also, condensing this album down really does make it her strongest and most interesting alongside Ultraviolence and NFR! Lana Del Rey - Did You Know That There's A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd?
-
I guess this could kinda work, I feel like we don't have enough of the original material to form a full project?

I have made myself a little Tropico playlist that I enjoy and does work well as a body of work between Paradise and Ultraviolence. Tropico: Otherwise I just have it all categorised as a b-sides album. Ultraviolence - Side B:

LDRX - Thoughts & Speculations Thread
bored replied to shadesofloveduthenandnow's topic in Lana Thoughts
Is it just me that feels like the next record might be more upbeat and fun? Look at Lust For Life, Change and Get Free were great indicators of what was to come on NFR! Then with NFR!... hope is a dangerous thing kinda hinted at Chemtrails being much more stripped back. Then I feel like Dance Till We Die and For Free were good indicators of what Blue Banisters would sound like sonically? And again, Sweet Carolina lyrically set us up for Ocean Blvd in my opinion. Which means LDR10 is gonna be influenced by Peppers and Taco Truck x VB!- 653 replies
