Superstar is an amazing song. Her vocals sound amazing, it's catchy, and the lyrics are THERE. You can tell with the songs she's released (especially after releasing FROOT) that she's grown up so much. I love this song because it's the way love SHOULD work, you shouldn't be in a constant battle for Power & Control.mp3 or the Starring Role.mp3, you should be in a relationship. Everything doesn't always work out perfectly but recognizing the growth you've had with that person and appreciating it is SO IMPORTANT and mature.

This might sound cringe but I don’t take this definition too seriously myself but I think that line addressses how much she’s changed over the years from being his daughter to this extremely popular celebrity figure. 
“Hello, it’s the most famous woman you know on the iPad.” Unlike Lana, Rob and Lana’s family are ordinary people for the most part so this line is a nod to her celebrity status. I agree with you, I think she’s being literal about how she’s probably the most famous woman they know when they FaceTime.

Maybe she feels that she’s changed so much from her past self that she kind of considers that part of her self dead (which is why she says she’s calling from beyond the grave). I interpret the “hi dad” bit as a way of her reminding him that she’ll always be his daughter despite all the fame, money, etc. I can see how this line is personal because Lana rarely addresses family/overly personal topics in her music but it kind of forces the listener to see her as a person in the sense that she’s somebody’s daughter, sister, etc and not just LDR.

All music is real music. But there's no denying Ariana is as basic as it gets. It's not about the songs being "dumb", at least not to me -I don't need allusions to quiet collusions born of confusion to enjoy a song. But Ariana is as bland as its gets, she's like a caricature of a fluff-headed thot pop princess, like a character from an SNL skit. I'm not hating on her because I'm a pseudo-intellectual snob. I'll gladly listen to Ayesha Erotica singing about hardcore anal gangbangs picking up emo guys at hot topic, or Lana singing about Jimmy buying her coca cola & peach lip gloss. There's just something about Ariana's whole vibe that's dumb as fuck.

TBH Fucked My Way is one of my favourite songs from this album. I love its dark sound and her vocals sound very hypnotic there.

have interscope treat her like the legacy artist she'd rather be, making 10-12 songs in a year then drop them no holds barred, maybe do some shows, maybe a tour if there's demand
 
i still want surfy glam-rock for her next album, i'd love to see her hit songs with as much lyrical depth and rhythm as older songs like Fast Car by Tracy Chapman- even now if you were to take her song and translate it to Lana you'd have to change nothing because it fits the stories she use to tell before talking about white man cock

I can't wait until the day of album release when I will set aside time to listen to it in full
and have the entire religious experience,
then to have the physical vinyl in my hands with the artwork and credits omgggg

imo the problem isn't the lyrics, it's the very bad 'last minute' trap drums. can't stand them, and it makes the song sound like a complete joke. :/
like she took the song and turned it into something just for radio. makes me worried for the rest of the album
