okay lol for some reason I thought they were identical?? Skdkjfjfhsksk

Her whining about love and fear is so unnecessary lol. I’m sorry but when you choose the path of an artist the quality of your work is what you get judged by. If you didn’t want to work on your craft you could’ve been an accountant

Conspiracy theory but what if we don’t actually know the cover of the album? since the cover we have now is basically the reason why single cover, and all the other single covers are different, what if they gave the reason why single cover as a placeholder for the album and the cover is actually different? it would make sense IMO considering it showed up right around the time reason why was being released… IDK

she is rightly allowed to complain about anything but what i'm saying is it comes across as corny, at least to me. if every big singer who blew up spent their first year complaining about fans we literally wouldn't see the end of it. imagine ice spice spending 2023 complaining about fans, ethel cain spending 2022 complaining about her fans, olivia rodrigo spending 2021 complaining about her fans, dojo cat spending 2020 complaining, etc... the list goes on. its corny to me.

instead of using her very sudden influx of fans to start working on her next era like any sane human being and maybe release another single all she's done is be annoying complain and now she's just canceled two tour dates (paris and amsterdam) for "scheduling conflicts"...
-
deluding myself into thinking the 16 track bit is fake and well actually get 25-30 tracks in some way because there's no way we are just missing 12 songs from the project...

saw a TikTok that said that sky ferreira hasn't released anything in over 10 years because the label has been sabotaging her... lmaoooo

I'm assuming you mean #1 in the UK, and if that's the case Brat also went #1 in the UK, and had much better results in pretty much every other chart (including #3 on the BB200) but my point was that crash failed in its attempt to be a "sell out" album because nothing went viral. it did well because by that time charli was established + it had lots of features, but no song went viral. good ones was supposed to be her "sell out" anthem and it tanked horribly. it's not even top 10 of her most viral songs. BRAT, on the other hand, can claim more than actual hit. i don't think they will be as long lived as boom clap or i love it but they're still huge on tiktok which is pretty much what being viral means now

Y’all find it funny how Crash which was supposed to be her sell out album tanked and didn’t sell out but Brat which was supposed to be much more niche and experimental and rave-y ended up being her selling out to Kamala Harris and the general public… so funny how life works sometimes

Southern gothic is a literary genre and an aesthetic not a sound. This is like saying a song sounds post modern or structuralist. AKA has elements that can be associated with SG even though she’s not really southern so we can obviously debate on whether they’re really SG or not
-
Y'all I don't wanna be mean or whatever but let's not bastardise the meaning of southern gothic please. Mitski is not southern gothic. Florence is a british woman. Let's keep it sensible!! Southern Gothic is a genre that originated in literature but then crossed over multiple media (like music, movies, video games) and, as the word suggests, has its roots in the deep South. The "creepy", "unsettling", "dark" environment that SG is mostly associated with nowadays are real but they're just the tip of the iceberg, and probably its easily "digestible" elements. To really understand SG as an aesthetic current you have to understand the South of the US, especially as it pertains to the Reconstruction era of its history. Alienation of the self, religious fanatism (like cults), trauma, loss, racial and sexual violence... these are all elements of SG, an aesthetic that is mainly born out of the decadence, both moral and artistic, that followed the Secession. Southern gothic doesn't just mean whatever is creepy or sad or whatever... Lana Del Ray AKA Lizzy Grant is a good example in a lot of ways of southern gothic and Americana.

I wouldn’t say cute… it’s definitely an album that doesn’t cause hearing loss if heard under a certain threshold of volume! And it’s able to move the air in a way that produces sound. but yeah its kinda lame her response to it. My issue with Marina has always been how fake she is… every album cycle she’s like heyyy I’m SO GOOD! Feeling OVER THE MOON! This is my BEST WORK! and then it’s like no I wanted to kill myself that was so bad can we move on. like why aren’t you honest about your feelings? I feel like it also bleeds into her music. She hasn’t been honest in a while. And unfortunately she doesn’t do fake/artificial very well either okay I’m suddenly sat lmaooo
-
yeah but shampain and radioactive were actually good...

im so confused where the whole katy perry remix came from. pop tingz has no evidence whatsoever of it happening but apparently everyone is talking about it? what the heck
-
How would you feel if LDR used AI for future music releases?
Charlottexseax replied to Strangelove's topic in Lana Thoughts
this is such a stupid take no offence... a cover is not a song where you simply swap one's vocals for someone else... a cover is a singer's personal take on a certain song, sung and played through their own very personal lens/artistic vision. what youre saying is essentially: i don't care about artistic agency, i just wanna hear this song sung by Lana Del Rey... meaning you dont see art as having an inherent value but just as a commodity to be used and discarded at any time. which is unfortunately how a lot of people view music lately... -
Can y’all put me onto her… like what are some songs that you’re like those are INSTANT bangers, I wanna get into her pretty please
-
no i would say she missed multiple times and thats why she's become a joke in every music circle...
-
i mean... she has in fact missed three times in a row so far (twice with her latest albums and now with that god awful poetry book) so idk about that...
-
? lets not get ahead of ourselves shall we..
-
the way people talk about brat as if its Charlis first album... i think ALL her albums have huge replay value! and thats why ive been bumping them all years into their release. charli has always been that girl
-
there was like a hot minute where she randomly started playing iNHA again and then she just dropped it out of nowhere lol...
-
yall i was talking about her sound... her sound is pretty generic and there's nothing wrong with that!! there's a reason why her music is resonating with so many swifties and she was opening for olivia rodrigo... yall dont need to pretend she's bjork! she's definitely cute and I applaud her work ethic and wish her the best... rise and fall of a midwest princess's sound is essentially kidz bop marina and the diamonds and the lyrics are camp counsellor ethel cain
-
what's the consensus on the remix album? is it really coming? like, an album where every song has been either remixed or contains a feature? or is she just gonna release some singles and call it a day?
-
rise and fall of a midwest princess is cute but really generic IMO and lacks personality/the it factor. good luck babe on the other hand is amazing. if she keeps up the quality for her next release she could shape up to be the next big thing in alternative music. speaking of which, do we know of her release schedule? is she gonna drop anything this summer? good luck babe is 4 months old now

what i meant is pick me is mostly used in mysoginistic contexts... u can say clout chaser/ literally anything else to get ur point across without resorting to vaguely mysoginistic names. pick me mean nothing. obviously i agree that girl is a lunatic for thinking charli copied her in any way i was just commenting on the use of the word yall are truly as lacking in reading comprehension skills as when i left... lol
