Do you think she's just some intelligent girl who made up a persona? Or did she actually deal with abusive relationships, drugs, addiction, dependency, etc.? Or somewhere in the middle?
 
It's so hard for me to figure out when she's telling the truth since she contradicts herself so much and even changes her story, and her life before being famous is so unknown, so what do you guys think is true?

She said that she didn't want to create news headlines, so I can only imagine that one of the people referenced must've been Barrie. The entire song, even rewritten, sounds like it is written to the girl singing in Black Beauty. She got emotional talking about the "pop of color" in the lyrics "I keep my lips red", and we know how she said she was in a very dark time in her life back in 2012 - 2013, where she was desperate for even the slightest bit of color.
 
I take the pre-chorus about her chasing rainbows to be in direct response to the Black Beauty line "Life is beautiful/But you don't have a clue", where I always considered it to mean she was trying to show Barrie how beautiful life could be.

No, sis. Clearly that wasn't my point, considering I'm not the one trashing Lana for censoring the names of these people to literally do that exactly thing (protect identity). My point was that making up random names to replace these people who have real names would seem contrived and unnecessary. I believe the way she chose to do it is perfect.

It was personal choice I'm sure. It gives the song more meaning to her. It probably meant a lot to her that she included it and using fake names would be stupid and shallow imo.

I prefer the first half of LFL over the second half.

Coachella is a good song. I really enjoy it and it was probably my most listened to out of the singles that were released before the entire album was released. The quality does sound subpar compared to the rest of the album, but I enjoy it and I think the story of the song is unique and nice (comparing Woodstock and the problems the world faced then with Coachella, the problems the world is facing today, and worrying about the futures of children while you're supposed to be celebrating).

I'm not sure if she's proud of it, but it definitely seems like she's more disconnected from this album for some reason.
