Sounds boring, just like Honeymoon. They're both good but I just don't really care to listen to them again. High By The Beach is good, but still, none of the songs released from "Honeymoon" are anywhere as near good to me as Born To Die, Off to the Races, Blue Jeans, Video Games, National Anthem, Summertime Sadness, Ride, West Coast, etc.

So I don't think this front cover and back cover even match each other at all. But I made both and figured neither were worth wasting by not sharing so

I don't know whether this is unpopular, but I don't like the tracklist on BTD - the order of it. I think the first half of the record has pretty awkward transitions, while the second half all blends together.

Lana is a visual artist, not just a musical one. Her homemade music videos show that she has (or had) a visual aesthetic goal in mind when making music. She's always said she's been really guided by visual aesthetics and "beautiful things," so that's important for her.
With that in mind, I don't understand why so many fans act like they're better and truer fans if they're "only here for the music." A lot of people like the visual work Lana created - and, may I point out, unlike most of her music, she made her homemade music videos by herself. If you're only here for Lana the Musician, that's great, but there's no need to act like Lana the Visual Artist is unimportant or simple "promo."

If you like neither Tropico nor UV, you don't like extremes in music videos, because they are at opposite ends of a continuum for what MVs can be (e.g., big, ambitious, pretentious, intellectual, whatever vs. small, understated, personal, emotional, whatever). So if I were to express this as an unpopular opinion I would say I like the way she explores extremes in her art. I think she does this mostly in songs (both within and between albums), and I like that it makes her seem unpredictable.

I honestly really don't like her new haircut. I'm not sure if that's unpopular, but I just don't think it's flattering on her. It seems to age her a bit. Come back, 2012 hairstyles!!

When Lana releases an album with a cute name, it happens that the next one will have a strong/dark/sad/violent name lol.

    Serial Killer is hugely overrated

There is an interview from the BTD era (which I can't for the life of me find right now) where Lana is asked what Radio is about and she says it's about a guy who rejected her until she became famous, and she didn't mind taking him in after that because it's not so important to her why people like her, as long as they like her.

I think the most straightforward interpretation is usually the most accurate with Lana. Plus she's said herself that this whole Lizzy/Lana distinction is purely aesthetic and that she considers herself always having been one and the same person.

I have always said Lana is the perfect artist to sustain her sound yet still change the production of her albums enough to feel like they are actually all different in tone from each other. It may be subtle, but it's there. For me, each of her albums evokes very different sides to her and i usually don't listen to them all on shuffle, i actually need to be in the right mood for each one because they feel for the most part different to me.

I'll try but I don't know all of them, I just know those are the places in which she filmed (according to the castle's website)
The place with the tigers is the Chapel de la trinite
The scenes with her kissing that asshole inside of the car etc are at the grand parterre (grden)
Idk where she filmed the bed scenes, but it's in one of those places.
The heaven's door is the salle de collones, which is closed. (they show a few seconds of the francois I gallery before the salle de collones, so u think it's the same) (the salle de collones has blue columns.
Some of the ceiling scenes are at  la chapelle haute Saint-Saturnin
    That's it I think.

The castle is not huge, you'll find everything.
And everyone needs to pass by this small circular room with the Yayo wallpaper, so you'll see it. Idk where exactly though.

Hi! I don't remember exactly the name of the rooms but you can see most of the places she's been at except for the Salle des Colonnes, which is only open for plays etc ( if there's one going on the day you go day you might try your chance. There was one play when I went to the castle but I didn't feel like it was really worth it).
You'll die when you see the 'Yayo' wallpaper. Don't worry, you WILL pass next to it, no need to really look for it xd.

Edit: I found the name of the rooms in which she recorded che video: la chapelle de la Trinité, la salle des Colonnes, la galerie François Ier, la chapelle haute Saint-Saturnin et le Grand Parterre.

The issue with the lyrics, while they're kinda boring and over the top, is that she said multiple times that the wants to emulate the golden era of jazz music through her songwriting. If you look closely, a HUGE part of the songs that belonged to that period of time have these cheesy lyrics about getting beaten by your man or loving a bad man stuff (ex : nina's version of Plain Gold Ring : great song, great vocals arrangements etc, random lyrics ; see also popular standards like My Man, although this one's lyrics are good). So you have to take this in consideration when thinking about all her stuff, especially UV : it's a very deliberate act, and not just Lana being so proud about these clumsy lyrics. Still, it's possible to inject the whole jazzy signature and mood with great songwriting, because there's also a great deal of beautifully written tunes (she did cover the other woman, which is an exemple of simple but great pop writting and character picturing). So idk we'll have to wait.
I think there's also a lot of disappointment since Lana has already proven that she's a brilliant and versatile songwriter, so everyone expects more. And the fact that she keeps on this obsession of creating the perfect dark-night-jazz torch songs, when they probably already exist and won't be toped, is confusing.

I think it would have been really cool if during the chorus, a drum beat would have kicked in a way similar to the Ultraviolence chorus.

Anyways, I think it's a really beautiful song and I love this fresh new sound. This has me very excited for the record.
