Ultraviolence debuted at #1 on Billboards Top 200 album chart in the USA
 
Sam Smith only got to number 2 and never has been at #1 on the album chart.
Smith tried to fudge the rules and failed big time.
But, he spent 2 hours up at Billboard doing who knows what and Billboard magazine loves him. (any guesses???)
And Sam name dropped Lana 100 times in the week prior trying to get her fans to buy his copy of her LP and then he had the audacity to copy her on SNL,
yet the sex biased SNL audience loved him and hated her. (any guess as to why?)
 
20 years from now, people will remember Lana.
Sam will probably be in real estate or in a bank somewhere.
Same with the 100s of other pretenders.
 
I was looking at artists who started in 2005-6-7 and well, Lana is here today soon to have another amazing debut, and almost all those artists from that period have disappeared.
10 years and counting.

Honestly who cares... She don't care about charts, we shouldn't care about charts, no one should care about charts. The only thing we  should care is her music and since so far it's beautiful i'm happy that soon we'll have a new album. I don't care if she will sell millions as long as the music is beautiful

Tbh, I think UV is my favorite so far even though BTD is an iconic album. In terms of Honeymoon being weak, you have to consider that there are like 11 more songs that might change your opinion. Maybe it was wrong to release HBTB before the album came out since everyone now expects something in that direction whereas TLY proved wrong. Therefore, people might be unsatisfied, I don't know. I can't wait to listen to the album in its full length.

So? Who cares about charts/pre-orders etc as long as we get beautiful music? I don't get people who care so much about charts, isn't it distracting from the music? 

Not gonna lie, I don't think there'll ever be a Lana song that tops West Coast or Off to the Races in terms of production, the production on those two literally slay my world

I know it probably won't be, but I wish MTWBT was like a TIWMUG/Baby Blue Love/Lolita/Boarding School type song because something about it screams 'teenager hanging out with girlfriends and being up to no good'
