The Sublime Instagram account reposted Lana's video and some guy in the comments was full on writing multiple paragraphs arguing with people because Lana's "not from the culture" because she's from New York not California so covering the song makes her a poser 

so the new snippet it's a cover and it's part of a soundtrack? so no album material?

The fact that she took the time to create an IG promo video for a song thats probably not even part of an official release... and the fact that it looks better than half of the official promo she HAS put out for her album.... AND the fact that she took the time to record this cover while she should’ve been releasing the album... yup we really just got played for booboo the fool

So NFR is still cancelled I guess, wow what a disappointment

Did some digging -
Was looking around and found concrete evidence that the Sublime cover is featured in (and done for) the new Sublime documentary that premiered at Tribeca Film Festival a couple of days ago. The song is featured at the end of the film during the credits.


 
It seems to have only been done for the documentary and will not be featured on NFR.

Honestly tho as a gay / bi / homoromantic / whatever I just like girls person, it's stupid but I'm gonna be incredibly happy and moved if Lana sings the song while keeping the pronouns. It would comfort me and just yeah make me really happy
