For real! If anything, Gaga's version is just as much of a 'cover' as Addison's because she literally… didn't write it 
 
Fun fact: "Nothing On (But the Radio)" was also pitched many years ago to Natalia Kills/Teddy Sinclair 😳 but she usually doesn't take other peoples' demo pitches— which is probably why it wasn't ever released by her…

Selena’s 2017 singles are her magnum opus to this day and she never finished the album that year so if Addison is here to finish what she started but with actual talent I’m not mad…

It’s not a Gaga cover, Gaga didn’t even write it. It’s a song that got recorded by several artists including Gaga and Addison and ended up on Addison’s EP. NOBTR is an Addison Rae song (AND her version’s better).

Its arbitrary semantics, especially in the streaming age but my understanding is:
Promo Single - A song released individually, sometimes they don't even make the final cut of the album tracklist. Sometimes they have videos but more commonly not. The song is offered to radio (typically offshoots like Adult Contemporary Radio or Indie stations) but not Top 40 radio. This can occur before the album is released or after it's out, in between offical "Singles" Pre-release track: A product of the digital mp3 marketplace when fans could be instantly delivered tracks on albums that were pre-ordered. This could be an official single or a promo single, and even in some cases was just a random song from the album. Official Single - Are the songs chosen by the label to lead and direct the album's promotional campaign. Again, in the streaming age this gets blurry as single's don't always get music videos and things can be changed by labels at the last minute (Originally Need to Know by Doja Cat was supposed to be a pre-release, promo single but it did so well on the charts that it overshadowed the second single release of You Right w/ The Weeknd so they just serviced it to radio and called it the "third single").

vinyl is extremely expensive to produce esp in higher quantities and her label won't do it and she probably can't afford to do it herself. as for CDs and cassettes.... no idea. golden age and inbred were given limited CD/cassette releases but homie shit mag is very small and run by one of Hayden's friends so that's why so few were made. Hayden recently put a golden age CD on depop for $500 and someone actually bought it.... its kind of a joke atp

new easyfun ep is great by the way, the last song has his vocals on it and honestly idk why that man is not the frontman for like an experimental rock band, he has the voice for it

lately i've been thinking about how incredible waterfall is. even though the lyrics are fairly simple, it tells so much… production and charli's delivery really elevates this song to the next level. you can really feel how this stripper character charli plays in the song yearns for a deeper connection and real intimacy. and then charli reiterates this idea of wanting a real relationship and being truly loved in i wanna be with u. immaculate storytelling if you ask me

Honestly I think Charli was the only artist to really bring something on theme to the table. Besides the aqua song, no one else even bothered to try and world build / reference anything on brand. I think the Mickey song works perfectly in the Barbie universe and they really wanted to extend that with Speed Drive. Plus it helped that there was at least 3 other songs probably pitched for the movie that use the Aqua song…
