Million Dollar Man should be on the set list forever.

Today I randomly found out that Hawaiian Tropic is an American brand of tanning products that has been around for ages and apparently is quite associated with beauty pageants, beach bunnies and the likes thereof. Lanas never ending love for American kitsch strikes again!

She said her Catholic upbringing has influenced her writing. UV also has the Hundred Dollar Bill connection with the Ultraviolent swing line, and the Jim references. A lot of the concepts from the Lizzy-Early Lana days are reused on Ultraviolence. If she really does add on a EP, I wouldn't be shocked to hear Kinda Outta Luck or Playing Dangerous make their way back around, conceptually.

I like the video a great deal. I think it's good in that the title of the song and lyrics are so intense it needed a simple video that allows the viewer to interpret it as they see it. We have Lana's interpretation but it's up to us the interpret it for ourselves and make the video meaningful to us as well.

That is what I wanted. I just knew Lana was going to give us fierce cult glamour teas. Oh, well. While the video does leave a whole lot to be desired, she is still, without a doubt, my favorite music bitch. Even with its blandness, the video conveys the darkness I always crave from Lana.
And not for nothing, but no other music diva, other than Bey can emote for all of their life, to the most bland of music. She is a natural actress. She was giving me face, expression, and feeling. And her face, it is surgically SNATCHED. She looked amazing.

I do kinda like that too. Even if i think the video is pointless im glad she isn't doing whats expected at the same time.

I love it that Lana is going in the opposite direction of what would be expected from a star like her... and doing the fuck she wishes on her videos. One of the reasons I respect her so much! I adore her older self edited videos as much as her big production ones. She's mainstream but she doesn't conform really.

?????? because it's so lyrically beautiful. I mean, Dear Elliot is just so heartbreaking:
"Are we just dust on the floor again?
I thought we were on the mend"

I think I like the demo of Black Beauty better. It's a great song and doesn't have her lyrical flubs that a lot of UV has. The added tracks to the song seem okay, but I think it's more powerful without it. Plus with Sad Girl, which uses the sudden return to the ending minor chord to great effect, it pales in comparison.

Nice theory but I feel like some people here are overinterpretating a bit because they want things to be like they imagine. There are things you could see as references, but I highly doubt that Lana did a record about this Family. Like the tree thibg ... this are not some super-rare trees or any kind of unique arrangement. Its some kind of common tree. Or the stretched out arms ... I think you really start to see the things you want to see at this point.
Btw I don't want to interfere with anyone's spiritual believs, but let's not forget that in the end it was a group of almost only white, heterosexual people from the middle/upperclass who idolized a man who left his family and surrounded himself with young women.
And as far as you can tell from her statements, Lanas cult-experiences, with whatever sect/cult, wasnt a positive one.

New age philosophy is for people who want to feel spiritual through changing superficial aspects of their lives or acquiring "hidden" knowledge, while losing contact with reality. I'm not a skeptic of the supernatural, just a person who is very aware of how damaging these cults can be. Reading esoteric books and such on your own is good but being surrounded with like-minded people is dangerous.

Take it for what it is: a little fun around a church in Italy filmed by her lover. Teasing everyone, showing what she can do to him, but not to us. If some thinks that she is only allowed to do epic videos, then surely you must be disappointed. I think the video is funny, she has a hard time keeping a serious face and not starting laughing.

Half of the vidoe is her, walking through a garden and singing. Then, suddenly, an old man with a walking stick appears and screams "WHAT ARE YOU HIPPIES DOIN IN MAH GARDEN?" and Lana and the guy holding the Iphone start to run panicky, while the song still plays. In the end of the video, the phoneguy runs behind Lana and suddenly stumbles. The camera turns black. The last scene is Lana in the dark, holding the phonecamera close to her face and crying.
Looking foreward to this!

It's a pretty average video. It's boring, but pretty. It definitely did have a lot of potential - I keep imagining Lana walking into the church in the video like she walked out of those doors near the end of the BTD vid and so much potential!
after thinking about it, it definitely seems like more of a 'background' video, or almost like a dream, that's why it's really scarce and there's barely any 'movement' in the vid, because you barely remember what you dream about.. maybe she dreamt about this and decided to make it into a video for uv idk. Hopefully she says more on the video.
I don't hate the video, but I don't love it either. I really like the WC and SoC videos as well. idk maybe she's just fucking with us

I want to get 'ldr' really small on the side of my wrist in a really simple font (probs like a typewriter font or something) and get 'moz' in the place on the other side (and when I say the side of my wrist I mean the part that lines up with my thumb.... but on my wrist ya feel)
