  1. 4? The "normal" one, the orchestral cut and the demo. What are you hiding from us?
  2. You mean the one who said he just saw pictures/videos of her and she should really just stick to singing? I mean like, how does this NOT appear to you as an insult? xD Well, I think she was right. Even though she acted weird, I am quite sure she is righ when she says it was his intention to make her look bad in the first place, no matter WHAT she would have said. The problem is, she really gave him a gem of a headline to work with.
  3. When has she ever replied to an innocent constructive criticism? The "impatient" girl was equally unpolite as Lana, people dissing her because of how she looks aren't constructive and polite either and the one parody she raged about was arguably not meant to be a parody, it was just mimicking and ridiculing her with a strange voice. I mean, you can argue about wether she should give a f*ck about stuff like this, but it's not as if the other persons would have approached her with less bitter and resentful words. And about the journalist: I guess both of them are to blame. Lanz acted stupid and over-dramatically. But looking at most of the (american) interwiev-potraits of her, it can be assumed he really wanted to portrait her in a certain way. Just because someone is a journalist and this means he has to be critic, doesn't mean you have to portrait someone the way the "mainstream" wants to see the person. And this is what many journalists do with Lana, so I doubt he is very innocent.

  6. I really like the sound of the snippet. I hope it will be a piece that feels .. "complete" again. You know, many songs on UV and the Big Eyes soundtrack songs had the feeling like there was just something missing .. lyrically. Like, not many lyrics or at least in such a repetitive way that it almost left you feel like you only scratched on a subject. Best examples for this are FMWUTTT and Big Eyes. Don't get me wrong, I love Ultraviolence as a record but I really would like to hear a song with a more "classic" construct again, ala BtD. The snippet sounds promising, let's see what we get.
  7. If your life was a TV show, this would be the theme song: Playing Dangerous Will you ever get to heaven?: Little Girls (Put Me In A Movie) Song you dance to at your wedding: Blue Jeans This song contains the name of your first-born: Because Of You Song played at your funeral: Lolita What do you want right now?: For K Part 2 Song that describes your sex life: Pawn Shop Blues … even my Itunes makes fun of my non existent sex life How will you die?: Breaking My Heart Your life motto: Hollywood What do you look for in a girl/guy?: Body Electric Song that plays in your head when you see someone attractive: Go Go Dancer What people think of you: Meet Me In The Pale Moonlight Where will you live?: Driving In Cars With Boys What is your vice?: Hawaiian Tropic What is the most important thing in your life? My Best Days Who do you look up to?: You And Me Surprisingly many song titles actually fit the question … Even though my feelings about some are quite mixed xD
  8. In one of the kindergartens I work, there was a picture of Aurora from the Disney adaption of Sleeping Beauty, and she reminded me of Lanz for some reason (only on this one certain drawing)
  9. Shades Of Cool. I mean, I always liked it, but at the moment i even prefer it to my all-time-favs
  10. Falling apart sounds like the depressive little sister of a Disney-princess-movie-song, I like it!
  11. I BET it's a part where we only hear a cut-off syllabe of Lana and the rest is Barrie singing.
  12. Yup, I don't like this "xyz is trash"/"her/his baddes song!" etc. At least, if it's without a "In my opinion ..." at the beginning.
  13. Well yeah, OUAD is a great movie soundtrack song. Y&B is actually quite a nice song in general, even though i found the way they placed it in The Great Gatsby was underwhelming. Haha, I didn't wanted to prevent anyone from liking ICF in the first place, I just wanted to go out of this "Song A is bad but song B is great! - No song B is great, song A is trash" discussion ;D
  14. Taste is taste, but I don't see anything interesting in the ICF chorus. She streches the phrase out in a tiring way and then throws in a sentence before streching out another phrase into eternity. The whole thing displays less emotion than Lucky Ones. The structure is like the average song construct and the lyrics ... well, a question of taste again. I think the way she sings them makes them sound dull and life-less, "faux-emotion". I agree on BE being messy and definitly a song that may not be everyone's cup of tea. I also expected more from it, but you see, it IS a soundtrack song and not meant to be a major radio single. And in this way, it really succeeds, unlike ICF, which, in my eyes, is just some ballad. And i think IF she has a chance to win with one of the two songs, it's BE, because it really has some kind of suspense curve and a cinematic sound, instead of the monotonous way ICF is just going on and on. So the "stop being delusional" applies to both camps quite well. BE is messy and could have been better easily but ICF is just a quite medicore ballad with nothing special happening. I personally prefer BE, even though I am also quite sure it won't win the award.
  15. And it will be abou ultraviolently beating up men? Gives "Music To Watch Boys To" a quite different meaning ...
  16. I'll never get the ICF love .... The song is uneventful, the chorus sounds at least as forced as the Big Eyes one and the lyrics are a pain. Big Eyes may be a bit messy production wise and the best part really is the bridge and the last chorus, but it has a more "dramatic" and emotional feeling. If she would have been nominated with IVF, her chances would have been 0 from the start.
  17. Oh my, funny how it's always the people who insist on their own opinions that make sharp comments about the opinions of others. Neither did I say she can't sing about what she wants to nor did I say that all the songs have to be relate-able/ all of her past ones were. the song is great and sounds wonderful and raw but it's also very intimate and this makes me feel a bit uncomfortable when it comes to this kind of spiritual stuff. You are right about this one, I guess my strong feelings on the first listening were a bit of misinterpretation yeah the transition is a bit weird
  18. It's so silly how people keep on saying that she did something which wouldglamourize rape or portray it as something good. The reactions are just so out of place and showmanship. She's acting, I doubt that this was a" camera test" and "without context". No go on and drag every actress/actor that has been involved in a rape scene in a movie.
  19. I want to love this song, but the spiritual undertone during the last part makes it so hard for me, even though I like the general lyrical direction of the first part and the overall sound.
  20. Better Than That isn't a FOTM song tho ^^
  21. I had a pretty bad day, but then I come home and HAPPY is out *_* It really sounds beautiful, I love the chorus and how it builds up. Also, the small irony of the song being about happiness, although sounding sad and a bit bitter is depicted very well with it being a lemon ^^ But still, the last part with the religious references ruins the "I can relate"-thing for me. You are dead to me.
