endless summer setlist with 2-3 NFR tracks would be better than what we've been getting recently. I'll take Cruel World, Brooklyn Baby, West Coast, Body Electric, Cola, and Serial Killer back please.

The elite cronyism, nepotism, questionable use of taxpayer resources, and apparent disregard of liability issues aside...

How many black or brown people do you think would be afforded the same privilege after filming this scene?

Or after that "Bartender" video throwing shit at the cops?

    I'm kidding but I'm not.

Above gif also sums up my feelings about the whole situation.

With the sound analysis - loved it!

    Few points to add:

Lana and her producers have always been a fan of the Mellotron (and so am I) but Jack in particular seems to love the Mellotron french horns - aka the intro of Love Song, HTD, used prolifically in Venice, California etc, that is what THAT sound is (personally I love it and how warm and tacky it sounds)  Love the synth glissando and the brass in the title track and how the opening strings are exactly the same as what plays in the chorus  Increased bass and synths in the outro of FIILY are incredible Love subtle changes in vocal processing ie. reverb, delay, doubling on Love Song and the harmonies in MAC Mixing is too loud on HTD and don't like dynamic changes but can see they were intentional California is pretty flat and the vocals could have been better, could have been more rocky, less repetitive etc The Greatest is one of my fave songs ever even though it's a bit anticlimatic - also don't really hear the strings, flute and horns that are credited, interesting vocal crack/flutter on greaaaaaaaaatest. Love the use of octave vocal doubling in this track and how the last chorus has more guitar The "dance" in HIAB after the chorus is out of time with the main vocal line and the guitar swells are nice if not a bit overbearing at times  Overall love this album sonically but it could have been cleaner and would have liked more bridges

some people, lacking a strong core identity, mimic the traits of those around them because they don't quite know how to feel, what to feel. they probably feel things in an "abnormal" way (too strongly, too sensitive, etc.) and look to others for guidance because they believe they aren't really sure what the "right" way to feel is. they usually feel split, desiring completely opposing things and they can easily see the good and bad in every situation, and are very adaptable (chameleon soul). it's funny because besides being, seemingly, easily influenced she also is known for not really breaking her character or her persona. this isn't to say she can't make up her own mind on things or that she has no desires, just that it may be harder to define and come to a conclusion on what she wants. some things are always present and strong like the wanting to become an artist, to create, and that is probably one of the only solid things she's had to hold onto. it is her rock and through all her confusion, she knows at the end of the day that she wants to be creating art. her art is influenced by her environment and herself though, of course. i think she can see the good in everyone which is a very helpful quality to have when you're faced with a lot of bad. i think she has usually been hopeful, but not so much lately. being able to see the good and the bad, being able to take the whole world in and analyze it and forgive it is... idk cool i guess. her Ride monologue always gets me, especially in the part where she says "I had a chameleon soul, no moral compass pointing due north, no fixed personality, just an inner indecisiveness that was as wide and as wavering as the ocean" because I believe that has been one of her biggest struggles in life and that she's being very intimate and raw with us when she tells us that. i believe it is 100% true that she feels that way and i guess it's because i find it easy to relate to. her persona is so strong because of her shaky self-identity, she needed something to latch onto. she always needs to know who she is and i guess maybe that time she was very lonely and didn't have anyone with traits strong enough to mirror. her persona has these defining qualities and is a somewhat complex character (and it is truly her, not just a character) because she needed to define who she was. you can tell by her music that's she capable of doing a lot of different things in terms of sound and persona, but she has always had some fixed traits that you can even see as far back as the Young Like Me ep that are still present in her music now. and being so capable is what has made her shine and what i believe has driven her success. she easily adapts because that is her way of survival. some abuse survivors have to adapt to their environment to survive, they have to shape themselves into whatever character doesn't get them hurt, they have to cater to what the abuser wants in an attempt to not provoke them. now i am not at all saying i think she was abused, just that she went through life experiencing something similar where she was forced to change at a young age and that led to her split identity.

I'm still trying to get over how awful that 3 part video she just released. All 3 songs are gorgeous and deserved better. Lana's become lazy in her art.

She had dreams of being a beautiful poet... and now they are coming true. The poetry inside of her is warm like a gun.

Ik, I'm normally kind of w/e about it but it bums me out. Those of us who don't praise her laziness get told we want her to be the BTD gangster nancy cigarette tropico queen, as though honeymoon wasn't objectively beautiful, in terms of music and aesthetics :/ Like she's reading her own damn song lyrics from a phone in her own concert... she's stopping concerts to look for her f-cking vape... and I'm supposed to be charmed? Or find her relatable? Like fair enough if it's not right for me to expect more in terms of song lyrics, production, etc. but it's so incredibly disingenuous when people try to say that she's not lazy or entitled at all lmao. She's got all the time in the world to relearn lyrics she wrote, or make a video that makes sense lmao like... not impressed. And then she has the audacity to tweet the water clip from the end of freak and say she wishes she still made beautiful art for the sake of it. Who tf is stopping her.

I really don't have to be grateful for this lmao

One of the top comments on the video is trying to make out like the people who find it dull are locals who only know summertime sadness, as if one of her most famous mvs isn't mentioned in every goddamn interview and article, and isn't also homemade. The difference between... this... and video games (and her lizzy vids for that matter) is the footage for vg fits the music, both in terms of timing, theme, and emotion. This doesn't at all. Watch the kill kill video and then watch the bartender segment. This is legit so lazy, and is2g this is the only big fanbase for a musician in which we're grateful for the absolute stalest crumbs and you're told you're not a "real fan" if you expect a drop of effort to be put into things like music vids lmao.

i wouldn't mind the minimalist aspect so much, but we've had this footage foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrr. makes it v v dull and boring to watch, even for non-stans who may have already seen the MAC and VB videos. the wasted potential.... i can't.
