She really deserved so much better, her influence and talent went so unappreciated. XCX World never got to see the light of day and her work with Gaga got scrapped because people weren’t ready to embrace her artistry, it’s sickening.

I think it would be really respectful in the futur to never mention Taxi or XCX World to Charli ever again. Yes it became a meme inside the fanbase, but it will now be attached to Sophie's terrible passing and for her to receive messages remembering the lost of her friend would be awful
Edit: And to Sophie's fan too as seeing these messages will remember them of Sophie's passing

I'll never forget how powerful and embraced she made me feel listening to "It's Ok to Cry" before and after coming out, devastating, just devastating

i just woke up and found out it was confirmed. god i just burst into tears, one of the most innovative people in music of our time, i remember listening to BIPP for the very first time and what a transcending experience that was. she means so much to me not only as an artist but as a trans person. oil of every pearls helped me so much at a time in my life when i was exploring and accepting my identity, i had never felt so seen by an artist. her legacy will live on.

I'm so heartbroken about this... as a trans person myself she was one of the first trans people on the music scene I was introduced to, she did so much for me to love and accept myself and see a bright future for us all in the entertainment industry.

    Truly unforgettable, R.I.P

She really was the vision of trans excellence in art, such a huge loss to our community in every way I'm gutted man

to me SOPHIE and charli are so connected this feels twice as painful, i'm losing one of my favourite artists and my other favourite artist (charli) lost her biggest inspiration.

i fear for charli's acknowledgement of the death, it's still so early in LA she might be sleeping and i'm breaking for her already

i feel really bad for charli knowing how close she was with SOPHIE  this is not at all the news i was thinking we would hear today. RIP
    oh fuck off

In case it’s not abundantly clear already - please allow Charli to respond in her own time. She’s made it very clear how impactful SOPHIE has been to her music, career and artistry. It’s going to be a sore topic for many in that circle for a very long time.

i dont even know what to do with myself. so much of the music i listen to, especially during hard times, is either sophies music, produced by sophie or directly influenced by sophie.  i cant bring myself to listen to any of it.

i remember when i first heard bitch, i'm madonna. the mv had just hit youtube and everyone was shit-talking how bad it was, so naturally i checked it out to see if it was that bad. but i found myself enamoured with its duality - it was using traditional transgressive sounds and genuinely making something fresh and progressive from it. it grew on me with every listen. then, when vroom vroom hit, i couldn't stop listening. trophy just hit different. then xcx world leaked, and those songs changed my life. then faceshopping, ponyboy and immaterial. her work with let's eat grandma in particular was something that kept me sane and made me feel grounded during an incredibly difficult time.

i just can't accept that she's gone. she was at the height of her powers.

i can’t bring myself to listen to music at all without thinking of her, sophie produced or not. i just feel so empty. like my only source of true happiness and to get my mind off things is watching her old shows. i don’t know what do anymore

this is so devastating. she pioneered the world of “hyperpop” and was influential to an entire genre of her own. sending everyone love right now

you dont have to take it so literally, i know it was an accident,
but anyway , may she rest in peace

If you feel like you've lost hope hearing about her death - please don't. Look at how much support she's got, even from mainstream DJ's, performers and singers - this is huge! Everyone using the correct pronouns, acknowledging her work and legacy - truly a progressive icon for LGBT and creatives.

It's amazing - we can grieve but feel relief that everyone is here for her and the community

this is so fucking horrible. I haven't cried this hard in a long time it doesn't even feel real anymore. Anybody who even knew her name knew how important and special she was to the community this is literally the worst fucking timeline... truly one of the most if not THE most one-of-a-kind, independant artists out there and that's one of the best accomplishments someone can achieve. there is not a single other artist that could come close to the revolutionary genius that is her music. Her and her work will definitely live on as one of the best projects of our lifetime. She just didn't deserve to go out this way, now, with so much ahead of her.... RIP
sending love to everyone else that's absolutely wrecked over the news it hurts so fucking bad
