2020 USA Democratic Presidential General Election
Blue Ink replied to graham4anything's topic in World News
GET THE CHAMPAGNE the bad times are over well, at least that part -
There's an election going on and who's trending? Miss Del Rey.

I have a little terrier mix and you definitely don't want to mess with him, no matter how small he is

Exactly, I don't even think sings of aging are ugly? No idea who made that up but I look at Audrey Hepburn in her 60s and don't find her unattractive at all and she really did have wrinkles. (I also don't mind botox etc as long as it's done in moderation. I truly don't get that pillow face trend.)

Breaking Up Slowly w/ Nikki Lane
Blue Ink replied to Elle's topic in Chemtrails Over the Country Club
I agree, I've been a fan since BTD and I would never describe Lizzy Grant or May Jailer as country. -

Yeah it just seems more full-on country today. Maybe that's just because I'm not used to Lana Del Rey exploring that genre. There's a thin line between tasteful country and straight up hillbillyism to me. This one doesn't sound too too bad, I have to admit. I did not like Hey Blue Baby and IMBSFBSH, that was already too much for me. But anyway, we'll see. I'm still excited for the album. -

Nikki seems like a nice person, haven't heard of her before. I gotta say though if there's two things I hate it's country music and collabs. Fuck me. I got both in one song now. Oh well, maybe I'm actually gonna like it and I'm determined to stay open and positive about this album because I love Lana. -
Sooooo, I got my receipts. Found out she was (yes, was, cause she died of cancer in 2018) a poet and lecturer, her name was Anya Krugovoy Silver and this is the post, written by her husband shortly after her death: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bm0iqq0FfM1/ With special greetings to @Lentilus Won't ever forget you being so incredibly nice to me.

Don't feel bad. I absolutely abhor that Alex woman. I hate her. I don't care about Ashley but that other one omfg- No. Before anybody tells me I'm a bitch, here's the reason: I saw screenshots of a message that a woman with cancer sent to Alex, Ashley and Lana, asking if she could meet Lana before she dies or something and Alex saw it and answered with "LOL" and that was it. Literally, if Lana would've been allowed to use her first NFR cover sitting on the rock with the two dancers, I would have made my own album cover and glued it over that one. The first time ever I was grateful for Ben and Ed. Wait, I'll search for receipts and see if I can find anything about that incident...

Let Me Love You Like a Woman (Single) - OUT NOW: October 16th, 2020
Blue Ink replied to Elle's topic in New Releases
I just remembered that post on her Honeymoon account where she writes about pink champagne and purple rain. Was that taken from an early poem? Or a song that didn't make it on the album? In any case she re-used that phrase on LMLYLAW now.- 359 replies

Just saw your profile picture and I think she took the selfie for the single cover that same day

I think it's all about how big the crowd is. She's generally more comfortable in smaller venues and sings better. I love her cover of The End of the World or her performances of Yayo a lot. Or Disco

Thanks for sharing the poem @sweetlikecinnam0n, I really liked that one. Something about Lana writing down her thoughts so unfiltered is very interesting. Definitely have to get that book soon
-
Exactly my thoughts. Idk why this just made me see him in a different (slightly better) way... Although this portrayal of him isn't really flattering it seems like he isn't just an arrogant rich guy (as I thought) but he also had his demons when he was with Lana.

I don't know if she seriously doesn't realize it but corona is a respiratory disease and she has been a heavy smoker for years now. Vaping is even worse that smoking. If she catches corona with those lungs she has that could get very dangerous... apart from that she's obviously also putting others at risk but if she doesn't care about that then maybe at least she should consider her own health ffs.

Just had the same thought. Is she just being an asshole for attention, does she think becoming the new "antagonist" of the music industry is fun or has she developed a God complex at this point? I GENUINELY don't know. She acts like an actual narcissist this year. Idk what happened but I'm not enjoying it, that's for sure.

I recently discovered this little unknown band and absolutely love them. They have 3 EPs out and one album consisting of 10 songs called Water which was released in June 2019. If you're into dreamy, 50s/60s kind of music maybe you'll like them too. "Inspired by the roots of rock & roll, the sun-soaked surf that crashes against California’s golden coastline, and the possibility of a world that exists parallel to our own, SadGirl’s Misha Lindes crafts music wholly authentic to his own experience. It’s nostalgic for a former era, yet happily relevant to right now, and that’s why this trio has risen from the core of the local DIY scene to become celebrated hometown heroes. I was able to catch frontman and guitarist, graphic designer, and visionary Misha Lindes while lounging at a pool party to discuss SadGirl’s aesthetic, transcendence, and debut album Water—out now on Suicide Squeeze." - L.A. Record (https://larecord.com/archive/2019/07/08/sadgirl-interview-water-suicide-squeeze) I especially like the song Strange Love: Here's the link to their album Water:

I googled it for y'all. Pls don't throw up while reading: "According to one of the most popular theories, trypophobia is an evolutionary response to things that are associated with disease or danger. Diseased skin, parasites, and other infectious conditions, for example, may be characterized by such holes or bumps. Imagery of various venomous animals (for example, certain types of snakes, insects, and spiders) have visual characteristics similar to trypophobic imagery."

lmao I was waiting for someone to say this. I don't find them gross but a bit irritating. Not really flattering kind of. Smaller pearls would have been better (and probably also less gross to some)

Maybe this belongs to the unpolular opinion thread but since it's kind of an answer to your question here I go: No matter how much the tickets cost, it's too much for what she has been delivering (or rather not delivering) in the past 2 years. So regarding that I'd say they're too expensive for what you get at the moment. Of course that decision is completely up to you though. I'd readily pay for a show as they were from BTD to Honeymoon but everything that came after that was just not worth it to me.

She did that all the time from 2012-14 and it was her best look ever, I'm glad she rediscovered it
